you never called me back. I'm telling Mr. Jim.

*Does he go for the "Hey, sailor" approach or the "Excuse me teacher"?

*Just checking.

the LoudOne wants to be an alligator. *sigh* Every other kid wants to be an action figure or something....then there is my kid, wanting a costume that is very difficult to find.

I bought one on E-Bay that is really adorable...but i am holding my breath to see if it fits.

Here is a DIY version.

A Toddler version, although I am not sure it will be big enough.

Petables has one as well.

This list has several stores, including Target.

I'm going insane at this being helpful crap but...

Get this to see if LO will be the right size ...

And if the costume you got doesn't work, I came up with a few ideas... this, this, and this. One fine looking gator if you ask me.

Mine decided to be a crash dummy one year. OMG. I bought some other cheap costume, turned it inside out and we applied yellow caution tape to it. What a mess.

So. . . ealier my mom called.  Little miss Butterhead was having quite the time of caturwaling.  I had to put down the phone and tell her that she could put her pants on and go to the park or she could leave her pants off and not go to the park.  She seemed to want me to just hold them out indefinatly.  Well. . . eventually things were resolved.  My mom called later this evening to ask if she had ever gotten her pants on and go to the park.

I SWEAR that she was secretly laughing at me.  I could SEE the thought bubbles of "pay backs are a bitch" and so forth.

Then when she was on speaker phone, my grandmother was helping with the conversation.  *sigh*  I commented that I was not up to making hot pockets for the other half tonight, he would just have to fend for himself while I was out of town Thursday.  OMFG!!!!!  You would have thought that I was suggestion that he butcher one of the dogs and eat him raw.  Ya know. . . he made it 35 years with out my fixing lunch.  I think that he can manage the microwave, a peanut butter sammich, or at the very least some cold ceral.  Why oh why does she think that men are incapable, completely incapable of finding their own meals?  Which is highly amusing because she is always going on about now that her and grandpa are retired he is fixing half the meals and so on and so forth.  ARGHHHHHH!!!!!

aww...Aylee Sweetie, allow me to put this question to rest. Hell yes she was laughing!!! Actually, she put Grandma on the phone for a bit so she could bury her face in a pillow and freakin' howl!!!!!

Trust me, you will forgive her when you are on the phone with an adult Butterhead and you hear Butterhead II trying to haul her naked tushy out the door to the park.

Holly Help!!
Okay I'm hijacking the thread in the middle of the night. If I remember right you have chickens. Which ones do you recommend for egg layers and meat production combined? I've spent 6 days at the fair and i've figured out my choices for live stock: cows - highland (They are cute. The meat is good and the hides and horns would sell well at SCA events. I'm not sure about cows as I actually diliked the ones I had in the past.); hogs - durocs; rabbits - californians for meat and english angoras for fiber; goats - boer for meat, hide, and hiking pack goats, cashmere for milk and fiber. But I just can not get a solid opinion on chickens. Any recomendations?

(Note - all the fiber animals are because most of the ladies I've met just can not stand the thought of killing something they have talked to and formed a relationship with - the possible exception of their EX's - so I needed a no kill solution to avoid the following conversation "Yesss, Honey it is adorable! No, I'm not going to kill it this year and make you eat it. I love you too much to do that. Now just stay away from the back feild and barn because I will kill those. Now stop crying. I have not given you a spanking yet so there is no need to cry. I know you love animals. I do too but this is a mini-farm. Yes I am cruel and unfair sometimes. Sigh. Women!")

Hey CounrtySong. I do not have duel purpose chickens any longer because, quite frankly, i an too much of a weenie when it comes time for the second purpose.

Because of that i go for the best egg producer, which is the Leghorn. They start to produce earlier then other breeds (about 5 months) and live an average of 10-15 yrs, with production dropping off around age 8. These are not good for purpose #2, as they are too skinny.

A good duel purpose is either the Plymouth Rock or the New Hampshire (real names...i am not making this up). Now, these breeds may be exclusive to the US, but i am not sure. The egg production is much less then the Leghorn.

A bit of advice...chickens die tragic deaths. They are beloved by the fox, raccoon, and average three year old. A lot do not live to see the table, so to speak. You might be settling for less of an egg production just to have its feathered tush become dinner for the nocturnals.
