We're in between bouts of rain, & it's just lightly overcast & the temps are mild, highs in the 70's . ... .

& I'm watching Dr Strangelove with my male offspring, it's a house favorite . . ..

In between working our way thru watching the box set of Monty Python's Flying Circus for the 3rd or 4th time since I bought it in January . . . . .

I'm a huge huge huge (& not just fat, lol) believer in the power of funny -- to heal, to uplift, to edify, to soothe & ameliorate much of life's vicissitudes . . . . . .

Seeking after humor -- watching funny stuff, listening to stand up comedy, etc, etc -- has been an increasingly important tool in my coping kit for years & years now . . . .

Sometimes I like to delude myself that I'm practicing at being funnier, but that's tough to maintain in the face of the sheer brilliance of so many amazing funny people . . . . .

Python alone could give me vast inadequacy attacks, if I let 'em, but that would be kinda absurd, too . .. ..

& there was that Norm Cousins guy, years ago, who swore by laughing for healing his illness . ... .

& for me, even if it doesn't work miracles, I feel better.

I think it makes me a little more pleasant to be around, trying to have some modicum of wit.

& it certainly helps me roll with the punches to be able to laugh as well as cry . .....

There is a doctor who specifically sets aside time in the work day for him and his staff to tell jokes. It reduces the stress he and his staff are under
