Phoenix, if your tooth starts to exhibit pain, get it checked for dry socket syndrome.....that's not a good thing at all. I've had teeth removed before, and never really had any pain associated with it....and the last one they had to CUT out of my jaw. All of my pain killer prescriptions I had left were from my dental visits......I never used them for any dental pain after an extraction.

Yikes! i cannot lie to Sir! The truth would be that i mostly was awake but DID sleep for just a little bit. i know that i fell asleep because the doorbell woke us both, and then the incessant ringing of Sir's phone after 11am. It wasn't me this time. i was there LOL

Sorry, hun.

I think it's something that can develop over time.....and I have several friends that went for years before it was diagnosed. They actually did the sleep study because they thought they had insomnia so bad it was interfering with their life. The apnea caused them to "wake up", causing disruption of the REM sleep cycle, without actually making them aware that they woke up. Or it can actually wake them up.....and then there's the disruption of their breathing.....they can actually stop breathing for a short time til their body kick starts it again......resulting in the "snort" sound that in turn wakes them up. It's a vicious cycle.

Usually, the symptom that becomes obvious to the sufferer is the feeling of not getting enough sleep, but it's not necessarily the first one they show. And it's usually someone else who notices the sleeping symptoms, since, well, the sufferer is sort of already asleep!

Well, I always had pain after teeth removels but was always ok to handle it...I mean...there is a massive crater in my mouth now and it takes time to grow together where that flesh is raw now...

But thanks for the tip.

I mean, I have her prescriped painkiller, antibiotics due to the depth of it and on top of it my fibromyalgia painkiller...but if it would get unusual painwise I would go, thats for sure

Oh no....trust me hun, when it comes to going to the dentist, I'd rather be strung up and whipped with a 9 tail........I am absolutely terrified of them! I actually have teeth yanked rather than let the dentist drill, fill, plug, and refit stuff....but yeah, the open hole was sort of scary...I could see the jawbone, and the stitches came out earlier than the dentist wanted them to. In fact, I have a tooth that was drilled for the crown, and I never went back, because (just like I told the dentist!), when it didn't hurt anymore, I didn't make the second appt. The 2nd temporary crown stayed on a whole whopping 30 minutes. That's going to be the next tooth yanked, cuz I'm not going back for the rest of the work....it's already abcessed once.....got some pain killers and antibiotics, and it was fine.

And every time I've had a tooth pulled, the dentist has made a point of telling me about the dry socket issue. So far, so good.....
