Status: offline 		I hate it that my sis just sent pics of their new puppy. They couldn't even take proper care of a cat, and they think it's a good idea to get a dog.  They are away long, long hours and the puppy is going to suffer for it.

No carpetting but yeah I agree. The thing is I know they gave in because my niece begged, and the poor puppy will suffer for it.

Status: offline 		I really hate the pet news.  Greedy, you know I love you & my prayers are with you both right now.  Zephy, yes, the dog is the one who will suffer for the neglect since it will not be trained or paid enough attention to & it will become one of those unadoptable dogs once they figure out that they can't handle it anymore.  It breaks my heart that people who have no business having pets are allowed to.

Status: offline 		I really really hate it when I'm with my family & I get to missing His Evilness sooooooo much that I get all kinda teary-eyed & have to take a break from the kids & text him that I'm missing him so much that I'm all teary-eyed.  What I really hate about that is that texting him that information didn't make him magically appear on this side of the world.  I hate it that I don't know how long I can do this LDR thing, but I don't know what else to do.  *sigh*

The thing is that I know, I just know that the reason they got the dog was that they caved to my niece begging for one. I also know that she will pay attention to it for a while then lose interest and the poor thing will be ignored. It makes me want to bang my head against the wall that they have done this and will no doubt end up giving it away when it proves to be too much trouble, just like they did the rabbit and hamster before it.

Giving a serious answer. . .

It is an attempt to justify and validate beliefs.  And the reasoning used is lazy.  In reality saying that one gender is superior to the other is detrimental to BOTH genders.  But it is hard to treat people as individuals.  It is also hard to know yourself well enough that you are aware of your own strengths and weaknesses. 

Yet, this type of belief also is detrimental to the relationship.  You are placing someone on a pedestal.  And the only thing that is good for is knocking them off of it so that they can fall farther when you end the relationship*.  It is not seeing your partner as a 3-d person with all of the human foibles and triumphs.  Instead it makes them a 2-d caricature.  A stereotype.  Not real flesh and blood.  Lacking depth. 

It is really sad. 

*I know that someone is going to come along and mention that it is also good for looking up a skirt or kilt.
