This is an interesting topic. I think the originator really made a great point. Those of us who are submissive really are looking to meet the genuine needs of our domme, not just to have some kinky sex fantasy fulfilled. On the other hand, there does have to be a good deal of overlap in interests to make it work. I find it difficult to believe that there are too many people out there who really do want to serve without regard to what that entails. Chemistry is a must to make things work over the long term. I think of it like a Venn diagram. I have my interest, she has hers, and there's some in the middle that overlap. To my mind, the slave’s role is to please their Mistress – in whatever shape, form or way. I know some dismiss the "other end of the spectrum" as mere roleplay because the "slave" is seeking their own ends - which seems to meet the definition of topping from the bottom. I would like to think its more complex than that, probably because I fall towards that end. But for exactly this reason, I've pushed myself over some of those boundaries when I've felt it would please someone I wanted to further submit to. The proof of a great topic is when the majority, never mind the overwhelming majority as with this thread, actually get the point and the sub text! Yes some perhaps got distracted by the title, butt it is a very powerful and compelling topic, however i feel more enlightened from reading the actual conversations on this thread than i have in a long time. again-Lady Heart-you are dead on right! I could never work in a dungeon for the exact reason you describe, how can you get in the role for an act at the drop of a dime with someone you do not know? I consider the submissive is there to serve the Domme not his own fanticies. Therefore if he enjoys golden showers and she (The Domme ) does not then he needs to enjoy serving her the way she wishes to be served . That should satisfy his need ,in that he has pleased her the way she likes to be pleased.
