well, i have managed to some how wear out my first butt plug, the standard doc johnson plug. I have both a medium and large, but prefer the large.
basically, im asking for recommendations for a quality plug that i can use to replace the large one that needs to be retired. by worn out i mean that the rubber that goes around the squishy silicone internal part of the plug, has become very loose.

I'd say it's a personal preference, but I like many of the ones found at:

www.blowfish.com

(they also have helpful information regarding how to care for toys)

I second Bearlee's suggestion, and while not having experience with them, love the way the clear (acrylic) ones look.

But I'm a sucker for aesthetics - even when I'm putting something into someones' ass <g>

http://www.mr-s-leather.com/cgi-bin/mr-s/D259.html are some of the best plugs I've ever used. They go in smooth and stay in. Also, because they are metal, they have a nice heft to them.

I have a few metal ones like the ones Beach Mistress has shown and I love them because you can make them extremely cold or warm and you can sterilize them easily but the draw back of metal plugs is there is absolutely no give in them and they lay heavy once inserted. For this reason I find I can only use them on very practiced anal players. A lot of people will find metal ones too painful, so you definitely need to start off small. Same with glass ones.

I would definitely go for silicone rather than rubber for the simple reason that they are non porous and can be fully sterilized (though I always use a condom anyway)

bought a med sized one and although not 100% sure which way to point it, i have been very happy with it.

very comfortable to wear

I have tried standard plugs, enema plugs, inflatable plugs and even vibrating inflatable plugs.

My latest however, is an electro-stimulation plug and it's wonderful.

Thought I would add my two cents in on this one. I have tried a few though there is something about the inflatable one that I enjoy, I mean hate. The pressure build up inside, leave it for a bit then another pump to enhance the wondrous insanity.

I would recommend any butt plugs that are made by the company Colt. Just my two cents!

I sell "Adult Home Novelties" via home parties similar to tupperware parties. We carry Colt because of their quality, and the company I work under evaluates products every 4 months to see if they are getting too many returns or defects on products.

Depends on what you want to do with the plug. If you want to wear it around all day long without it being too obstructive, I would recommend the Ryder butt plug. It's not all that big or filling, but it can be worn when you run or workout. Medicaltoys.com has some metal bullet plugs which I've heard some good things about. Then for just at home play, I would suggest the Three Bangs Butt Plug. It's a beauty to look and equally as fun.

for any njoy users, id love some advice.

i have the medium size one (1.25in) which i have used twice (once for extended period) so far. would love some advice on which way to point it once inserted. that is, as it has a kink once inserted, should i be pointing it towards back or stomach? both ways seem to work ok but im sure that there is an ideal way.

would appreciate any help.

I have a glass butt plug that I LOVE that was made by the folks at www.passionglass.com. It's a bit different from the styles they currently offer, though. It's a simple "classic" style plug, but the shaft is shorter than the ones they make now.

It is very durable and easy to clean, has a nice weight to it, and can be heated or cooled for varying sensations. On top of that, it's crystal clear and quite beautiful. It's not very comfortable to sit with it in, and very difficult to hold it in while standing or walking, but it feels wonderful lying down or reclining. I imagine the ones they make now stay in easier with the longer shafts.

Pointing front and back. I assume you have one of those plugs with have a curvature. Generally I have it pointing towards the stomach because that is where the prostate is and it is also the only way it'll go in with my large plugs.
