I keep seeing advice that says to never wear a cock ring longer than a half hour. Can anybody explain the medical reason behind that?

i would imagine its to do with restricting the blood flow, although half hour doesnt seem too long a time to wear one imho. A lot would depend on how tightly its fitted as well. [;)]

think of a cockring as being the equivalent of a tourniquet - leave it on too long and the extremity will fall off - eventually.

If the bloodflow is restricted it will show in change of color (more blue) and temperature (colder). If the bloodflow is not restricted you should be able to wear the cockring for quite few hours (I have worn spiked leather ballstreatchers and cockrings for the whole day). Monitor the situation closly for the first hours... and after that without any problem you should be able too keep it on.

Okay so if I understand correctly.....any problems will be obvious in the form of pain, or color, or something obvious?

To clarify, first I have some questions for you, are you talking about cock rings for the penis only, or for the penis and scrotum? Are they metal or rubber? If rubber, do they have beads in them? The ones with hard beads or "pearls" inside them are the ones that are the most restrictive in my experience and are the ones I'd be the most cautious about wearing for extended lengths of time; more than an hour or whenever you feel your penis starts to hurt or lose sensation as a result. I'd also generally avoid wearing metal cockrings around the base of the penis alone as clearly those won't stretch at all. The most "dangerous" of the cock ring family is elastics that are too small, and applied forcefully when the penis is erect. Something like that could not only cause bloodflow issues, but semen flow aswell (assuming an unexpected [BAD SLAVE!] orgasm).

One of the biggest concerns with wearing a cock ring for an extended period of time has to do with the fact that if old blood is trapped inside the penis and new blood can't circulate into it, there is no source of oxygen for the cells, and eventually they will die. Do Y/you really want cells in Y/your penis dying? Also, i imagine that if the cock ring was left on for an extremely long time, eventually the bladder would become full, and without being able to empty it could rupture. And that is very bad indeed. If it is the type of cock ring used to maintain an erection, i would advise Y/you follow the time limit that is included with that specific cock ring!
