O.J. tossed from steakhouse on Derby eve

By BETH CAMPBELL, Associated Press WriterTue May 8, 11:57 PM ET

The owner of an upscale steakhouse in Louisville said he asked O.J. Simpson to leave his restaurant the night before the Kentucky Derby because he is sickened by the attention Simpson still attracts.

"I didn't want to serve him because of my convictions of what he's done to those families," Jeff Ruby said in a telephone interview Tuesday. "The way he continues to torture the lives of those families ... with his behavior, attitude and conduct."

But but he was just looking for the killer. Everyone knows that Columbian Drug Lords go to steakhouses the night before The Derby! Some people just are soooo clueless. Jeez!

I can't believe I am the only one who sees this---what is wrong with you people?  The queen of england oft wears gloves.

Yes, I read the story on the server this morning, and quite frankly..... good!

It's ridiculous to say that O.J. was refused to be served because of the color of his skin, unless it's still stained red.  (Whoops... Did I say that out loud?)

The story I read in the Journal stated it was in Cincinnati (maybe this Ruby guy owns restaurants in Cincinnati)....nevertheless, this guy oughta be given a fucking medal.

LadyPact -> RE: O.J. Simpson thrown out at Kentucky Derby (5/9/2007 7:30:39 PM)

Griswold, you are right.  The man does own restaraunts in several cities, but it was the location in Louisville that was the center of attention.  Another bit that was covered in the story that I read was that the restaraunt has many pics of celebreties on the walls.  I would suppose it is a rather famous restaraunt for those coming to watch the Derby.  The owner used to have a picture of himself and O.J. on the wall at one time.  After the killings, he took it down.

Oh, and in advance for those who will say maybe O.J. didn't do it......  If he didn't, I'll apologize to him if I see him in the afterlife.

Edited to add.....  Whatever happened to those signs that you used to see everywhere, before W/we all got so scared....... "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone"?

MasterDesire -> RE: O.J. Simpson thrown out at Kentucky Derby (5/9/2007 7:40:54 PM)

Good for him  everyone needs to snub him. If he did not do it then fine but to flaunt it  like he did with the book deal well just shows me they let a killer go. And anyone who understand leather knows that if they were soaked in blood they will never fit anyway as the leather will shrink. But then I guess he will get his in the end.

soultoshare -> RE: O.J. Simpson thrown out at Kentucky Derby (5/9/2007 8:16:53 PM)

LadyPact, you only said out loud what the rest of us thought!  The way I see it, since OJ is "broke", his laywer has to recoup his losses somehow, so he uses every opportunity he can, even if it means blatantly using the race card.  Good luck finding anyone to support THAT lawsuit. Frivilous is the word that comes to mind.  OJ needs to slink off with his tail between his legs to some obscure part of the country and just fade away.  Looking for the killer.....pppffffffttttt!

One other thought that comes to mind.....who on earth would want to be seen with that man in public?  That's 15 minutes of fame any normal person would run from, but hey, even Charles Manson has groupies!

I'm glad the restaurant owner stood up for his belief.  He DOES have every right to refuse service to anyone, for any reason, no questions asked.  Actually, any retail business has the right to refuse service to anyone.  Ask anyone who has ever worked Loss Prevention in retail stores....anyone caught shoplifting in the stores i worked for was told that if they ever came into ANY of the stores, they would be arrested for trespass.  We took pictures and put them in our stores.  I think it's the furor that was raised over a few Denny's resturants that makes restaurant owners so careful.  But I say, more power to the guy!

Hey ... us Kain-tuck-ians don't mind saying what's on our minds.  Don't like it?  Tough. Don't come to Derby week!  This ain't Hollywood! [:D]

LadyPact -> RE: O.J. Simpson thrown out at Kentucky Derby (5/9/2007 9:34:31 PM)

Thanks, soul.  I see it like this:  Even if O.J. didn't kill them, he was at the very minimum being an abusive husband.  A lot of the O.J. defenders forget this point.  A very good question as to why people would want to been socializing with this man.  Supposedly, this was a dinner party of 12.  I'd be too disgusted to eat.

I hope the owner of the restaraunt has all of the ticketed receipts of every non-caucasion patron who had a meal there that night.  Just to expose how frivilous the race card is in the whole event.

Nosathro -> RE: O.J. Simpson thrown out at Kentucky Derby (5/9/2007 10:44:57 PM)

From what I read the group was about 20..some did leave with OJ others remained.  In an on camera interview Ruby did state that the only altercation from the incident was between him and a "blonde" who Ruby stated to her she could get her throat cut as well.

Saddly there are people who are drawn to Killers and in view of the evidence denie they did do it and defend them.  In some cases it has ended it tragidy.

popeye1250 -> RE: O.J. Simpson thrown out at Kentucky Derby (5/9/2007 10:56:50 PM)

I'm really surprised that no-one's wacked this guy yet.
He likes golf.
A golf course would be an excellent place to get him.

ElectraGlide -> RE: O.J. Simpson thrown out at Kentucky Derby (5/10/2007 12:39:58 AM)

That glove did fit him, otherwise he would not of got it over his dam hand. O.J. is a lousy actor but him and his smoooth talking attorney Johhny CockRing pulled it off.
