what does being human and vulnerable have to do with portraying a Dominatrix as one who turns vigilante/suicidal as opposed to all the other options when faced with a traumatic life changing event?

not ALL vulnerable/depressed humans become a danger to themself and others.

this slave isn't saying there aren't vulnerable/depressed/vigilante/suicidal Dom's out there, just that it was very disappointing to see this ONE opportunity to portray someone involved in this lifestyle on a primetime drama show as a danger to themself and others as soon as a traumatic event occurs.

if Master allows this slave to go with Him when He visits the CSI set this fall, you can be sure this slave will be asking anyone willing to answer. [:)]

I took a whole different view of all of the episodes involving Lady Heather.  Lady Heather and Grissom were so alike.  Both maintaining self control under all circumstances, even their attraction to one another.  When a parent loses a child, it is traumatic, when that loss is the result of criminal acts, even more so.  I don't know any parents who would not want to do some serious damage to the person who murdered their child.  I took it more as how even a person who is able to maintain so much control in all areas of her life can be completely broken at the loss of her child, the one thing she COULDN'T control, but had controlled her (as children so often do).  Her child had dictated the terms of the relationship between parent and child much to the dismay of the parent.  Lady Heather was always portrayed as so stoic, so un-nervingly unemotional, when she lost her child and lost control, I didn't find it sad, I was cheering for her.  I would likely have done the same thing if someone killed my child.

Yes, why do they need to portray someone who is obviously in the lifesyle with so much disdain?

You mean kind of the same way they portray a random mother or father, who's child was raped/beaten/killed by some mercilless, sociopathic criminal?  Yeah, that's some real prejudice writing right there....

By the way, that disdain you like to refer to, have you ever seen a character be able to match Grissom as intellectually as Lady Heather does?  You really need to pay attention to the subtext, especially when it deals with Grissom, you will learn A LOT about what's really going on in that scene.

I had thought Willows, of all people, would be a bit less judgemental. Perhaps she's just pissy because she wants to be the one spanking him...

You must not watch often.  Friggin' Catherine is one of the most arrogant, judgemental characters.  She's always pissing on people, especially women, who were in similar positions as she was in her pas just because she has her shit in order.
