ansfrid -> fet wear = normal clothes? (5/9/2005 6:55:13 PM)

For me, fet wear is a clean pair of jeans, a simple black shirt, and a nice, sharp, comfortable jacket. That's me. I really prefer clothes that I feel strong and comfortable in, and above all, natural. I find traditional fet wear sort of a costume, in essence, not me (not disparaging fet wear here, just personal preference). I'm all about feeling like I am not putting on an act. I have no trouble with this really, *except* when there is a party, or setting where fet wear is required. I have never been refused entry or anything, but I can't help but wonder whether people feel I am not even trying. I am trying to ponder ways of communicating the fact that this *is* my preferred look, and I *did* dress this way on purpose as my fet outfit. I would like to get a pair of leather pants someday, but that as fet-like as I tend to get. Any ideas on how to communicate the point that I am dressed appropriately...for me? Should I even care what anyone thinks?
