Maybe (just maybe) instead of considering G/grammer, we should tackle S/spelling instead.

(Start with profile naming, hmm?)

I'm pretty sure I spelled it "grammar" in the thread line.  Also, I'm fully aware that the mythical place of white robes and happiness is called "heaven."  I'm not the keeper of heaven.  My Pet has chosen the name Heavan.  I am her keeper.  I don't mean to heat this discussion, especially in the wrong direction... But I did want to make it clear about My Pet's name.

A lot of people misspell their screen names on purpose. For example I am known as "monkee" in several places online because I like the spelling. There is no need to defend your creative spelling of "heaven"

the post about the misspelling of grammar was directed at you it was directed at the post that critiqued the spelling of Heavan

(hands Jeff a cold pack to sooth the recoil)

names in general typically don't fall into any spelling rules... names are creative representations whether they are used as a screen name online or given to our children at birth

but as far as that whole slashy-speak thing... well, whatever

personally I find it ridiculous & won't read posts that have an excessive usage of it within it

One time I had the nick name Equestreanne, and someone's all like you know you spelled it wrong it's equestrian, I said I know. I chose to do that. I ride horses, and my middle name is anne, all they hadt o say was "oh"

I misspelled Mistress on purpose because I personally don't use Mistress as a descriptor of self

Passion has been a nickname from way back... in fact I had a couple nicknames & even CB handles prior to coming online. Passion seemed to be the best descriptor of myself that would translate into a scene name. The live community I was involved with used Mistress as a female identifier & equivalent to a male identifier of Master. Since when in Rome, you do as the Romans do is so often the case with our actions... I had to respect the laws of the land... so I fudged a few letters to make it my own & to this day... I don't use the i or e in the spelling. I'm not Mistress, I'm Mstrss.

I've wanted to drop the Mstrss thing because it was never something I desired but then I would have to go through all the trouble of telling people.. yeah, this is me aka MstrssPassion

ppfffffftttt... to much trouble

It bugs me but not enough to mention it to someone using it. More buggable are those that pack a long post into one sentence & those that do not even bother spelling basic words correctly. Yes I know the dyslexic ones, those are easy for me to read but there are 3 people here who are lazy typists to the extreme. One I gave up trying to read.
I'm strongly oriented to the written word & I think that is partially the reason for my own grammar/punctuation nazism. Oh wow I think I ranted hehehehe.

UH OH....and maybe (just maybe...lol) we should use spell check on posts we make to criticize spelling.

Not grammer....grammar.

giggle. you crack my ass up.

I don't like the whole caps and lowers with slashes thing. To me it is a sign that the person writing probably keeps all of their activities in fantasy land. I know very few lifestylers who use it.

Just another clue to who has it all in their mind or all in their world,

Yes like Master desided to spell his name MagikSwitch not Magic, and I just followed suit because I watned it to match so it was aparent who I belonged to, for a while it bothered me when people would adress me and call me magic like they felt the need to correct my SN or just werent really paying any attention at all..
Cjenny just so you know Im not a lazy typist I know my spelling pisses many off though I dont know why people care but i am dyslexic and for what ever reason spell check doesnt work on my PC its not that I dont care or that Im lazy I just dont see my own spelling mistakes. For what ever reason I felt the need to make that clear.

It is clear that indeed mstrjx needs a nap.  (No, not THAT kind.)  Not only did mstrjx nearly become offensive, but mstrjx also made an error.  Well, several errors, but that's probably another matter that mstrjx will attempt to rectify another day.  This simply will not do.

mstrjx would like to take this opportunity to apologize to all those who found mstrjx's (or is that mstrjx'?) comments before inappropriate and/or over-the-top.  Now, while it is true that in a public forum mstrjx could have simply avoided the backlash altogether, mstrjx thought the best thing to do was to come back to make amends.

mstrjx has never found third-person form to be of much redeeming value, but seeing one's 'handle' (mstrjx) this many times in one post has certainly boosted the ego (and hopefully humor-value) of mstrjx immensely.

Please let this post end so mstrjx can consider that nap now.

Jeff

In addition to what the other's have said, I always feel that a dominant who insists on slashy speak is highly insecure and I would immediately pass such a one on by. Plus people with vision problems who use voice readers cannot follow a post using the slashes.

As far as capping in the middle of the word, I was an English major. Real grammar before fake is my motto!

Aw I know you're dyslexic hon. I speak of those that do it out of not caring about their appearance (which onscreen = text for me.). I said in my post that I can read 'dyslexia', my ex is terribly dyslexic so I learned how to read it lol.
