~fast reply~ As I said on an earlier thread, if I tell someone xhe's "under consideration", it means "I'm thinking about it." It's not a "pre-collar engagement", it's an opportunity to meet a couple more times and see what happens. If I've met with someone over coffee, then had them come twice in service, it's decision time for me... either I am comfortable enough to put them in a probationary collar (probation, for us, lasts at least 6 months), or I let them go to try to find something more suitable. Same goes for them -- either they are ready to make the relationship active (a regular schedule, collar, and training/service plan), or we're not the place for them. For us, the probationary collar is the formal acknowledgment. If one is going to use the 'engagement' analogy, the probation collar would be our 'engagement'.
