my uncle is a south carolina cop. when he went thru police academy, part of their "final exam" was to submit to being hit with a "billy club" as well as tasered. he said that men in his class actually dropped out because they were not willing to be less "manly" and have to submit to this part of their training. he also said that it was a really REALLY good lesson that they all learned, because they knew perfectly well what having a billy club behind the neck, and having an electrical stun knock you on the floor, felt like.

he also says that the taser is the more feared police weapon on the streets nowadays. he says that criminals try to get away with more if you have a gun because they know you hafta have "probable cause" or somethin to shoot. whereas, with a taser, all they hafta do is "resist arrest". he says knowing the force a taser exerts is priceless for his line of work.

Got a friend who's a cop.  They just went thru training with the new taser thing -- the one with the little probes that stick to you.

He told me about it.  Nasty thing.  He said your muscles lock up and you can't say anything and all you want is for it to stop.

He said you do feel like ass for a while afterwards, though.  It's not like you just bounce back good as new as soon as they stop tasering you.  You're not good for much for a while afterwards.

lol this could be useful info for the other thread that is running about kidnapping and knocking people out.

I wonder how long after the "impact" did they get a response from the 'willing participants'.

According to the guy I know, you're more or less completely incapacitated as long as the thing is discharging.  He wasn't able to get the words out to tell them to stop.  He's was ok when it finally did stop, but it took some time (didn't say how long) before he felt "right" again.

They suck.  I used to have to deal with the guys at the Police Training Center after they'd been hit with the OC spray or the tazer.  Most of them piss their pants....it's THAT involuntary of a total body jolt.  I've been hit with them for the purpose of being certified on the non-lethal weapon.  It truly was one of the worst training experiences I've ever had (one above the OC spray, to be honest.)  I'd take 200000 hits by a bite dog in a poacher's coat and no sleeve bar before I'd take another tazer.  A masochist I am not!

I've been tazered, it wasn't that bad.  I didn't go down or pee after 3/5 hit me (breast, arm and belly). 4th blew off me, 5th barely touched my elbow. Docs were not to clever in learning the twist n pull method necessary because of the fishhook-like barbs. derrr,

It was later (25mins) that the symptoms occured, heart palp., sweats, shock.

.....all of the subjects were people who were discovered as being monetary contributors to the "AL GORE 2008" campaign.

"We were just trying to shock some sense into them before they started posting signs and bumper stickers...poor devils..."., said Dr. Alexis Sybian, the...well.....head .....of the program.  This follows last week's similar intervention when highly agitated contributors rebelled and tried to seize the barbecue grill at an  AL Gore 2008 fundraiser after being informed that the picnic was officially carbon neutral, and all would all be eating uncooked meat at the $1000 a plate gathering.

oh god that sounds hot...*says the girl who watches Dallas SWAT to masturbate to*

btw...anyone know how many times Rodney King was tasered at what level?  changes the view on his "beating" when you take that into account, or at least it did for me...especially after watching a video like this... http://www.filecabi.net/video/aBulltaz.html
