The original poster implies that there cannot be one without the other. That's a little "tree in the forest", no? I'm still a dom if I haven't a sub. If I meet a sub and we get along it does not make who she was in the Before Time any less of a sub. IMHO the only difference is that now each has focus. Perhaps it is more like the lens and the eye - the lens doesn't change, and neither does the eye, but when the two are put together everything becomes so much more clear. Damn... that was almost fuckin' poetical and ...stuff.

Not true. I've been a dominate most of my life long before I got into this. Various comments about being intimidating, a drill sargent and needing a whip in my hand were told to me long ago. We are are all familiar or may know women that have given birth but aren't mothers.
