that car that i owned & drove for so long was 5 years old when i bought it & i paid $700 for it...it required little maintenance, most of which i could do myself, such as brake jobs & tune-ups...i suppose i could have rebuilt the engine when it threw that rod, but i decided to trade it in...too many other things were beginning to die on it...after 180,000 miles, things like electric windows & door locks start to malfunction  LOL

TatTooEdDuCk -> RE: Last one to post, wins. (6/17/2007 12:18:46 PM)

Hey! That's exactly the problem I have right now..

lilsubl -> RE: Last one to post, wins. (6/17/2007 12:45:36 PM)

your electric windows are malfunctioning?

Mikal -> RE: Last one to post, wins. (6/17/2007 12:56:28 PM)

I've always wondered about electronic windows... if you happen to drive into a body of water, and the car gets submerged... how are you supposed to get out? You can't open your doors because of the pressure, and the water would likely fry your electrical system. So, without a hand-crank window, how do you get out?

Not that driving into large bodies of water happens often, but... that's what I think of. [:D]

spiral23 -> RE: Last one to post, wins. (6/17/2007 12:58:05 PM)

hope you wearing your stillettos and smash the window?

FullCircle -> RE: Last one to post, wins. (6/17/2007 1:34:09 PM)

You wait until the pressure is equal on both sides i.e. interior filled with water. Then you open the door and get out.

Yep you press a button on a key and all the car locks are activated electronically. I would hate to think how that might malfunction underwater but I’m sure those car designers know what they are doing right….?

tenderfootmaster -> RE: Last one to post, wins. (6/17/2007 1:53:11 PM)
