Hi Fluffy!

So what book did you get at the library? My local library isn't very good at stocking the sort of thing I like to read, their Sci-Fi section contains about 40 books, and even the bigger libraries in the area are pretty sparse on the things I like.

The Evidence Against Her by Robb Forman Dew

A couple of months ago i had gotten some books off a sale table at Borders with a free gift card. One of those books was The Truth Of the Matter also by her. It turned out that "Truth" was actually the 2nd in a trilogy. "Evidence" is the 1st.

i usually read other authors, but this one was interesting.

It's funny, I usually stick to my favorite authors, but it's such a nice surprise to find an enjoyable new author! Is the third book out yet? That's the hardest part with any series, waiting for the next one to come out!

I'm still waiting for Jean Auel to publish her next (final?) book in the Earth's Children Series. The boards say it will be with the year, but I've heard that before!

Hi Pomme, I didn't know that bit about clove and flavoured cigs becoming illegal. Sounds like a bunch of BS to me, even though I no longer smoke, I support the right of others to smoke whatever they like...*LOL*

i'm not sure i understand the desire to do things that are illegal. But then i guess i'm too old to be able to figure it out. i never understood smoking either. My first husband smoked and died of lung disease. It's not pretty.

As for the smoking issue, well, I am a reformed smoker who will occasionally bum a smoke from someone, usually because everyone around me is smoking and if I am smoking, it bothers me less.

But I have to say this...I just had a friend die in June from complications of emphysema and COPD. She was only 56. She got pneumonia and got tired of fighting for the next breath. She was a wonderful, witty, loving person, and there are many, many people out there who miss her. She blamed only herself for her problems, and refused to let anyone boo hoo for her "bad luck".

I admire that she took responsibility for her actions, but in the end, she is still gone.

OK, lecture over. If you have 'em, smoke 'em!
