Status: offline 		Ron, the problem, i think, was all the update down-loads that kept previous ones for ever.  All the files i could see seemed to be ok....it was the "hidden" files that were huge and i couldn't do anything to clean them up.  The computer only has 8GB to begin with so stuff fills it fast.  Do you know how BIG Adobe reader is?  i got rid of it in favor of FoxIt pdf reader.  i also got rid of MS Works in favor of Open Office.  All updates now have to ask to download. 
 
eta: i was doing the defrag until it wouldn't run anymore. It takes 15% free space to run it.  i got down to 1% and less.
