Well, she's one of those people who's always telling you, under the guise of joking, what's wrong with you, which gets real old real fast. The straw that snapped my spine came yesterday. My parents are staying with her, and Mom had left me a voicemail saying that they'd arrived. Well, work was mayhem, and I didn't get a chance to call back till 8:56 or so. My aunt answered (it being her house and all) and said immediately that she'd known it was me. Why? I asked. She said, without a trace of humor, that only i would call with two minutes left in a TV program. Sounds trivial, I know, but it really peeved me. How on Earth was I supposed to know she was watching TV? And if the show was so Goddamn riveting, why pick up the phone? It was the sort of bullshit bullying that I just didn't need on top of a hard (and still unfinished at that point) day at work and a mouthful of aching teeth.
