You know what I have gotten overloaded with?  People who excuse their own incompetence by devaluing the quality at which they are incompetent. Lousy at grammar and spelling? "Oh, I don't think it matters whether you spell a word right; what matters is that I get the point across." (Poor logic and nonfactual, by the way.) Not literate or articulate? "Who gives a fuck?" Don't even *try* to remember anyone's name other than their own? "Oh, I'm terrible at names." Too fuckin' stupid to roust their ass out of bed and leave home early enough to allow for normal variable traffic conditions? "Oh, I'm sorrreeee, if I didn't speed, tailgate and run lights this morning, I wouldn't have made it to work on time." (You're sorry, all right.) I'd tell them to stop making excuses for themselves and take some responsibility, but, well, they're too busy making excuses and evading responsibility to listen.

Yes and it is funny...what you get from people, at least the young ones I have spoken to, as a rather amusing combination of knowledge of their guilt in this and blaming of the societal conditioning from their teachers and parents that allowed it.  However, as I pointed out to my own ums and nephews...they were NOT allowed to get away with it at home so how do they end up using it?  Their answers were rather notable for the hemming and hawing.

Oh...and by the way, did you note how I snuck in under the radar to win?

so well stated, Aylee...one of my favorite rants, not that it does any good toward effecting changes in these incompetents, but does remind me not to act that way myself...i discovered years ago that when i would be confronted by a boss regarding some incompetence on my part, & i owned up to it & didn't make excuses, that boss would simply stare at me, speechless...probably due to the fact that they were prepared to counter my excuses & blaming of others for my mistake...odd times, these......
