Today, Monica Goodling testifed that her and Alberto Gonzales met, and he said, 'let me tell you what I remember', and laid out for me his general recollection" of the events. Alberto Gonzales is ON THE RECORD on 4/19 saying "I haven't talked to witnesses..." So, which one of them are lying??? ----- but it continues..... We're still trying to answer the question: "Who drafted the list of United States Attorneys to be fired for political unreliability?" Monica Goodling: "I never recommended to them that a specific US Attorney be added or removed from Mr. Sampson's list". Kyle Sampson: ( 3/19 ) "The decision makers in this case were the Attorney General".. Alberto Gonzales ( Senate Cmte testimony ) "I was not responsible for compiling that list". Well, WHO WAS IT??? Alberto Gonzales ( 2 weeks ago ) : "at the end of the day, the recommendation reflected the views of the Deputy Attorney General" ( Paul McNulty ) Alberto Gonzales ( april 19 ): "Looking back, things I would have done differently, I think I would have had the Deputy AG more involved, directly involved" Jon Stewart: "Listening to their testimony it's like the entire DOJ is taking a shit inside my head. What are you doing? If it wasn't McNulty, Goodling, Sampson, Gonzales or OJ, then this list must have -- I know how this happened. This was a miracle virgin firing. An Immaculate Termination."

Al Gore was really fantastic tonight as well. I completely agree with him that we've had an assault on reason over the last 6 years. People don't listen to each other, and debates aren't built on facts and logic. They're built on who can shout the loudest and scare the most number of people into voting their way. This is something that Bill Clinton has spoken about as well. The neocons have a thesis that holds that the reality does not matter. A true superpower is not bound by reality; it makes its own reality. Therefore, the facts are irrelevant. Clinton/Gore 08? [:)]

More like the last 60+ years culminating into bush and gawd knows how much worse it can get tommorrow.

I didn't watch past the opening act, so I can't comment on Gore's performance.
