LadyEllen -> single sub males and venues; rent-a-domme? (5/25/2007 4:15:31 AM)

I wanted to gauge some views on this one.

Many events and venues are so deluged by single males that they have a policy of not admitting or at least restricting them in terms of numbers.

What I want to ask is, whether this is as widespread as I perceive it to be?

Also, how many single sub males would be willing to pay for a domme escort in order to access an event or venue with such a policy?

Lastly, have any single sub males done this in the past to get around the system, and how did it work out?

Thanks in advance
E

it seems that alot of places prefer to have couples. otherwise, they charge the hell outta single men.

I have no answers...only further questions....

I wanted to gauge some views on this one.

Many events and venues are so deluged by single males that they have a policy of not admitting or at least restricting them in terms of numbers.  Does this include single dominant males?

What I want to ask is, whether this is as widespread as I perceive it to be?  I have no idea, I've never seen it here though.

Also, how many single sub males would be willing to pay for a domme escort in order to access an event or venue with such a policy?  Really just to go to an event...pay a "domme escort"?  What would the domme do for them exactly?  Just escort?  No play?  would that make the event pleasurable for either?  If the domme can get in without difficulty why would she limit herself to a paid date that she probably won't interact with?

Lastly, have any single sub males done this in the past to get around the system, and how did it work out?  What ways might single men get around this?  dress as a woman?  what benefit would that provide?

I am VERY curious as I'm completely daft to this whole idea, methinks.

Thanks in advance

I've only seen it at goth & swing bars and clubs.  The only time I've seen it restricted at a kink focused event was when it was couples only.

If a man is willing to pay for a dom, my guess is he's not going to waste the time and energy to go OUT and enjoy their time together :)

I can only really answer the second-to-last question:

Nah. I don't like the idea of paying for BDSM, though I have a lot of respect for the Pro-Dom industry. It's just not my thing. So I wouldn't pay someone to go with me to a party/event.

Thanks all.

EC - I've no idea if it applies to single dom men too, but I have noticed it seems to appear on the details for lots of femdom only events here. The way I'd see it working would be for the domme to do a little more than just be there for the guy to get through the door - but I also see a huge problem in it, in that the reason a single sub male wants to get into such an event maybe (and equally maybe one of the reasons he is prevented), is because he wants to go hunt himself out a domme of his very own; I can see it becoming potentially at least, a nuisance.

I've been to many couple events where submissive men bring professional dominants to the event (having paid her). I've always disliked this practice, not because it's inappropriate but because of the catty behavior of the non-professional dominants (or professionals who are attending without clients). There's a certain amount of stigma, and I was escorting a woman who was about to become my full time mistress, and after seeing her act so childish about a pro domme and her slave at a party, it served as one of the reasons why I decided not to continue to pursue the relationship.

First off, I would never pay anyone to get into an event, like many others have stated, what fun would that be?  As far as single male restrictions...I was in the military, and some of the enlisted clubs overseas required after a certain time that only couples or females were allowed.  Some even restricted the number of people from another service (The Kadena enlisted club which is Air Force tried to restrict the number of Marines coming in.)  Thankfully, that sort of discrimination was ended, as this wasn't a "private" venue.  But I did understand the policy that was put forth, to prevent a deluge of single guys coming in, and hitting on every woman in the place.  It just made the night rotten for everyone.

I know when me and Master go to the club he is charged far more then I am (up to $30 more) to get in its crazy. So no its not just a sub thing, they dont even ask if you are Dom or sub when you come in the charge isnt any different for Dom sub just male female!

I've never been to any BDSM events that were couples only or charged more for the single men. The swingers or the sex groups, yes but not the BDSM one.

I have gone, (as a favor) to one just so the guy (friend) could get in. Not my thing but was happy to help out.

dummey -> RE: single sub males and venues; rent-a-domme? (5/26/2007 2:57:54 AM)

Never ran into this kinda stuff, of course I also don't go out seeking for these events, but it seems quite unfair. It makes perfect sense from the organizers point of view, but for the people left out, it kinda sucks. I can agree with a couples only thing, makes things less complicated, but trying to just weed the males out seems like an overly greedy tactic. Just because of the ethics, I wouldn't rent a dom nor would I even go even if I had a dom already. What's the fun in an event where discrimination happens before you even go in.

Elorin -> RE: single sub males and venues; rent-a-domme? (5/26/2007 5:47:41 AM)

I have heard of swinger events where the # of single males was limited, but as previous posters have stated, I haven't encountered BDSM events listed as such.

I have, however, heard of BDSM events that were couples only - no single males, no single females. Sometimes it was because of a hands on kind of tone to the event, and everyone needed a partner - sometimes it was for other reasons.

I have had professional clients ask me if I would take them to parties, but it was because they were not "in the know" and would never have attended a party alone, but it was never because single males were not allowed.

Most parties I attend forbid use of the venue for professional purposes, so I would only take a client to a party as a companion, not as a paying client.
