I drink about 30 oz of water a day!

That would seem to be pretty low. Google tells me that's just short of a litre.

I used to drink like < 1L a day until a few years ago. Getting used to drinking > 1L had good effects on my body, although it does involve going to the WC more often.

1.)chug a big bottle of apple juice,
i tried this when trying to ween myself off soda, and well, found a certain cure for constipation.
maybe persons with blood sugar issues shouldn't try this, i used this to keep my sugar high like the soda does.
2.)split pea soup,
it's really easy to make(like four ingrediants and a crock pot)
hope this can help, but it gives you another reason for a nice hot bath- phoenix

thankyou all for taking the time to reply- I am looking into all your suggestions. I drank prune juice diluted and took some Metamucil (fiber) and I'm as regular as one girl can be lol....I do need to eat more fiber but can't drink anymore water lol..I drink about 30 oz of water a day!

64 oz of water a day is the recommended amount.  I am hypothyroid too; oatmeal is my best friend.  I make sure to eat lots of high fibre foods, and drink as much water as I can, more if I happen to have tea or coffee since they are diuretics.  Since they make the body purge fluids, you need to drink two more vcups of water to make up for what one cup of coffee forces out.  If you drink soda, stop!  There is nothing in soda that you need; it's got more sugar than the body knows how to handle and the diet stuff just makes your body think you need more calories.

As for your originaly question, I was stuck in a hospital overnight once and there was an older man in the room down the hall who was severely constipated.  I signed myself out AMA after listening to him beg for death all night to stop the pain.

Constipation can be very uncomfortable and painful.  My um suffers from a bowel problem and can go anything upto three weeks without pooping and it makes her so poorly, pale, lethargic, unable to concentrate and bad tummy pains.  Senna is a really good way to eal with it and also oranges as someone else suggested , an adult friend of mine will sit and eat a whole bag of them when she is constipated and then spend  the next day pooping.
I have learnt in my search for natural ways to help my um that eggs, cheese and bananas are binding so we avoid them when she is having an episode.   The best help I ever got for her though has to be from the chinses herbalists, they gave us some special tea for her to drink and did a brilliant massage on her back that helped loads.  Massaging your tummy with your knuckles in a circular motion starting just above your navel and working anti clockwise in a square shape around it also helps too [:)]

If the issue is obstipation, rather than constipation, then these things can make matters a lot worse; whenever there is nausea, vomiting, fever or lasting pain, a visit to the GP's office is in order. Otherwise, there are a million things that will do the trick.
