Tal,

Those of us who have been around this board for a while know that many topics get raised, sometimes hotly debated, finally die down--and then get raised again, over and over.

That's understandable, since new people keep joining, but just for fun, what's YOUR vote(s) for the topic(s) that continually resurrect?

This should also help new people recognize which topics will yield fruit once the "search" link gets clicked.

Enjoy, vent a little perhaps, but mostly, have fun.

Best,

Tim

Greetings Tim

Oh that's easy, any question that can possibly contain the word slave in it.

Camerius,

Isn't that what Gor is all about after all?????   Maybe the question could be, is there Gor without slaves?  (totally tongue in cheek question btw, for those of you who MIGHT take me seriously)

heh...

For some, it sadly is.....and yes, there is, but then that would be without what is really important to live as a Gorean, ya' know. ;O)

Tal and all that,
I got a few:
1. the whole slave/FW/slave/FW debacle.
2. the glory days of Silk and Steel, which usually gets mentioned in the "I am more Gorean than you can ever hope to be" discussion
3. The carefully crafted "earnest" questions by a slave designed to trash a Free Person.
4. oh! forgot one..anything that has a lot of quotes by others, but never disproven,  pseudo-legal jargon, "ad homenim" "dicta" "yawns" and constant whining about being maligned while maligning others and making veiled and not so veiled insinutations and threats.
Probably get shot but there they are.

Greetings Tim,

The "What is a Gorean" question.  No matter how long I stay away from this forum, on my return to read there is always a fresh attempt at the same question.

The whole slave is really a slave even if she isntowned or she is simply free waiting on some big bad master man to make her a slave or can she possibly be a slave in heart and not in her groin or visaversa:  dramaslavefreedramaslaveleavingmastercuzhehurtmyslavebellyfreeagainbutreallyslavestillmaybeIdontknowslaveconfusionquestion.

I think that about covers it.

Anything mentioning G.W. Bush, the war in Iraq and Afghanistan(sp) or Gor book are badly written etc., etc.

Greetings,

After a couple months reading the topics brought up and the responses.. most anything that mentions Gor, Gorean, Masters, slaves, collared vs uncollared, Mastering, submitting, online and/or being 'real'.

As is obvious by my vanilla ice cream cone (<<-- over there) I don't reply very often. Not that I wouldn't like to sometimes but there's just to much jumping into people if they don't say something quite right and then the first assumption seems to rule no matter what they say after. But, you asked and this seems a safe enough topic so there you have my 'vote'.

Sincerely,

bahi(RD)

y,

You are surely invited to attempt to engage in any of the topics and to see how you fair. I would say that would be more appropriate than to sit and complain about whinning, when your post here appears to be the very thing that you are complaining about.

Is this not a forum to post and to debate? It appears so.  People around these parts have a mixed skill set and just because one may or may not be a good debater why does most of the personal attacks come out of just a certain group of people?  Yet, it seems, you forgot to mention these people and/or what they do, except to mention things that are specifically directed to me.

I can go down the list of what you forgot, but certainly that would be redunant.

Tal Camerius,

Not to hijack my own thread, but I was just struck by how many of my professional writing students must have a similar conversation!

Best,

Tim,

Doggone it!  You beat me to that one.  I puzzled over her post as well.  Heck, she doesn't like Gor in the topic...maybe not come to this particular forum in the Collar Me boards.   Dunno, just a thought.

I wish you well,

Liz

Greetings,

I realized after seeing your reply to my post I hadn't been clear. When I included Gor and Gorean my reasoning was after reading back several months worth of topics here one seeming consistent emerged for me. While healthy debate is a wonderful means of sharing thoughts and ideals often at the mention of the words I included the course of the topic being discussed slides off the side of the road with what appears to move from debate to bickering.

Most of the topics presented, even if their presented several times, have provided me new insight into others perceptions.. until the slide takes place. That, for me, is the most frustraing and chaotic element... trying to pick thru the battlefield and find my way back to the core of the topic at hand.

I strayed from endless topic to endless element. Please accept my apologies.

Greetings,

Actually I love discussing Gor and moreso the Gorean ideals. Learning more of what others think and broadning my understanding is the reason I follow this particular section of the Collarme message board. Only, for the reasons stated in my last post.. I read typically without responding. I would do well to continue with that approach I believe.

I had initially added more which would have made my post more understandable but had backspaced it out without realizing to change my wording. I hadn't caught the omission until it was brought to my attention.

Sincerely,

bahi(RD)
