Hi,

We're a Male Dom/ female sub couple. He is 35, she is 27, and we spend our time between NYC and the DC Metro area. We're in a very serious relationship. And while we've had some experience, we're still gaining experience in the world of BDSM. We're proud of who we are, but don't let it get to our heads.

Just curious as to why you decided to announce you were Jewish?

We decided to mention our religion since it is integral to our identity. Don't get us wrong, we're not religious, but we try to keep our traditions within reason and are very proud of our people and its heritage. And we like playing with other Jews in particular.

As for your other question, it all depends on how well she cooks. Generally the Dom in the relationship is the cook, as He is the one who has the most experience in that area and enjoys doing that. So if she's a bad cook, she'll have to eat his brisket, which, to be honest, wouldn't classify as a punishment. ;)

I happen to have a great brisket recipe myself..

I went to school in DC. Loved everything about the area was heartbroken to leave.

Oy! Welcome! There's quite a lot of tribe members in BDSM, you'd be surprised! I mean, look at the laws pertaining to sex in Torah! It's no shame to be into kink, and I hope you learn a lot in the forums!

I have my grandmother's brisket recipe, but I tend not to make it as one usually needs to make brisket for a large group. I tend more to cook my other (Yemeni) grandmother's recipes, which are easier for small fare and are quite good.

I'm still gettiung used to DC- I've barely been here on weekends as I tend to go elsewhere (as the subbie usually isn't here), so I'm more familiar with the area that I live, but so far I like it. We still have to check out the clubs here though- maybe this weekend, who knows.

Yeah, we know. We're somewhat involved with the Kinky Jews group that's quite active in NYC. We'd be more active if there was a community in DC and if we were up in NYC more on weekends.

I have been on collarme.com for sometime-on and off- but new to the message board.
Welcome Kinkyjewishcple...and hope that things work out well.
I grew up in NYC, now live in Chicago..i do miss NYC at times esp. the summer buzz.
I am curious wht kind of kink are you into ?
BTW it is only kinky/deviant the first time you do it..after that ..well..it is what it is with no labels. :)

Welcome. There have been few discussions that relate kink and Judaism in the several years I've been on here. Maybe that will change. Not really sure it matters, but it could make for interesting discussions.

On the DC Scene: I'm somewhat a veteran visitor, with frequent (weekly or more at times) visits to the area. There is some deeply sheltered kink, but compared to NYC, you are in a vast wasteland. There is some very good kink in Balto, which isn't far, but unfortunately I understand a lot of it has been driven underground by meddling local politicians (and life changes in the key participants' lives).

You'd think that a town like DC which is all about power would thrive on power-changing relationships, but the combination of it being in essence a REALLY small town, a company town, a conservative Southern (and heavily proselytising Christian) town and a town where everyone is looking for an edge on everyone else means that kink is not very evident. (I should add here that my girl and others might argue that DC also has too many lawyers to be properly kinky (GRIN)). So I think you might do better going to NYC, where you will eventually meet DC and NoVa based kinksters.

I think I remember the famous JFK line about the Capital City: "Washington is a city of Southern efficiency and Northern charm"

Dom here. I think I may check out Black Rose's Gateway this week, if I can get myself into the minset of driving in DC. I live and work outside the Beltway and never really have a need to go into DC. But we'll see. Looks like we'll just have fun in NYC though.

Does anyone know about clubs in the Philadelphia area?

I highly recommend looking into Black Rose and judge for yourself.
With any group you will have individuals to deal with and, I have yet to hear that religion has ever been an issue.

In addition, there is a club called The Crucible which is independent of BR and it has many members of BR and those who aren't attending.
