I must say, I don't particularly like LJ.

I like xanga though. It's got the same premise as LJ, but I like it's layout a lot better.

www.xanga.com

look me up! ^_^

We use www.livejournal.com

It is great, you can filter who you add, who can respond to you and who can view you. It also has communitys for you to seek others of like minds. For Example our community is Dallas BDSM.

Best of all it's Free

Live Journal is a good one, as others have mentioned. It's gothic spoof of a cusin, Dead Journal can appeal to some. Caledia's another good one. If you want a blog-style journal, Blogger might be the ticket.

In any case, good luck finding something that works for you. If you have close friends that maintain journals you also view, I'd recommend considering using their same service.

I use My-Journal, it has a wonderful community feel. It isn't filled with bells & whistles it is just a great place to write.
