I've never used one, but I've always wanted to try it!  If you get one though, you should get the one that is built for electrical play.  That way  if you wanted to get adventurous, you can always add a little electricity!

Had one used on me once a few years during some experimentation. Interesting to say the least

It does work although not quite as well as the pics would show.  While most pics show the legs/torso and 90 degrees, a sub with the least little bit of pain tolerance can  crawl quite easily, and standing up and walking is possible, say max angle is 30-45 degrees, depednign on the subs size.  Putting it ons a bit fiddly, but that may have been the one that was being used on me in paticular.

The biggest issue is that it can be gotten around quite easily. Any male sub with some flexibility can simply spread his legs wide enough to put the humbler between his legs and not behind. Some kind of knee straps or cuffs would be a very good idea

everything is better with electricity, in my opinion

but to answer the question at hand...the humbler is definitely a tool you want in your bag of tricks.

Humblers come up on here every few months.
To the poster, i have worn one and they can be amusing for a Domme. Some designs let the person wearing it attain a  more standing position. the flat ones keep the person bent over more. i have made a few. and worn them ..
I even created a new type, called humbler stocks, very uncomfortable.
http://www.slavechris.com/  has pics of both types i have made

I've seen them used very effectively, but the ones I've seen were made from wood, and they seem to break very easily. If you are using a wooden one, tighten the screws evenly, so that you don't apply undue pressure, and don't leave them on the floor to be trodden on. They are not as solid as they look.

They put the balls in a very vulnerable position. SO many possibilities.

great fun,as has been pointed out the sac becomes very accesable to drip wax on. the resultant jumping responce is interesting to watch.
It has to be used carefully though as the sub can be permantly damaged if its too tight so check the design carefully for sharp edges etc

I'd have to agree with the comment above about ease of escape. It's a main reason I haven't got a humbler yet. One solution would be longer "arms" on the device, and curved ends that prevent the wearer from spreading his legs enough to pull the device through to the front. Another solution would be straps on the ends of the humbler that would wrap around the thighs and attach either in front, to each other, or else attach individually back to the device. Something is needed to keep the ends of the humbler back where they belong.

For those that want to make one, and your mention of them breaking easily. I made 2 or 3 out of red oak. And hinged one end. Red oak is stronger than pine.. But when making them, it is harder to work with then pine also

seen them also and wanted to try it. I did have 2 long sticks used with a rubber band holding them tight together. On all fours it had a nice effect.
Also it does leave them open for a mistress to do what she wishes.
