I am having a hard time with my anger right now, not because of my bi-polar, but because I have started my monthly....and I don't know how to deal with these mood swings they usually aren't this bad, I was wondering if anyone could maybe give me some pointers on how to deal with these anger bursts that I am having currently. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Avoid others if you can- stay in bed and watch tv, no internet.

Wear yourself out- as long as you don't think you'll damage things as you wear yourself out.

Be ok with your anger as long as you don't express it in a dysfunctional way.

Some chocolate/orgasm/endorphins/happy chemicals in your body would be good, whether by eating, fucking, or exercising.

Okay thanks, may I ask why no internet? I am practically addicted to it. But unfortunately I can't avoid people since I have been working. I got so mad earlier I almost walked out on my job. I wear myself out working, so that isn't hard to do, I am trying not to express my anger in any bad ways I just am getting frustrated very easily and I get a little pissy at times, and I have said some things to people tonight I wish I hadn't. But I did and I can't take it back. It probably doesn't help that it has been two months since I last had a monthly. I guess my hormones are probably out of whack which is making the whole deal worse. Thanks for the advice LA.

As with most things related to female hormones, the answer is a whole body approach. It's not easy to get the mix right, but the fact that you don't like yourself when you get that way is a motivation to start trying a few things. A couple of tips: caffeine seems to make mood swings worse - caffeine is found in coffee, chocolate and coke, and there's a bit in tea, but tea has other virtues that make it OK.
Keep your sugar intake down as your mood changes for the worse - sugar highs and lows feed mood swings. It's no coincidence that women with PMS tend to gorge on sweet things. It's a vicious circle, as the "feel goods" then make us feel worse. The endorphins generated by exercise help neutralize the PMS hormones. Forget the internet and go to the gym. Which brings me to the part you REALLY don't want to hear. Female hormones are stored in fat cells. The leaner you are, the fewer the hormones that get stored there. If PMS is a problem, that's why exercise is recommended - fat goes down, endorphins go up. Sorry, I know you didn't want to hear that, LOL  Good luck hun.

Chocolate, darker the better; hot bath with calming oils {lavander, vanilla}; soothing music - nature sounds work well for me; scream into a pillow at the top of your lungs; work out. Working out is a GREAT way to get rid of that extra 'negative' stuff in your body, its productive, its safe and you can put 110% into it. You can also just sit down and write, sometimes that the BEST way to get stuff 'out;' whenI say 'write' I mean, sit down with a pad of paper and an ink pen, NOT a computer. Like LA said, get off the computer, it can cause more stress and anger.  You need 'calm' energy and positive energy, turn the computer off, don't worry, it will still be here when you get back.

If you aren't around anyone, the only person you'll hurt with your anger is yourself.  As you said you already did unfortunately.

And no internet because you can do just as stupid stuff to people online when angry as you can offline.

We all get bad days.  Next month just try and be more prepared.

Well, I do know that yesterday eating a candy bar made me feel better when I was at work, so I guess it could be a sugar drop I don't know, I just know I felt like I was gonna pass out before I ate it and afterwards I felt better. I knew estrogen is stored in fat cells the doc told me that, that was their reasoning for not having one every month. But I have been stressed lately and I changed my diet which can cause them to stop for a few months. I don't exercise much because of my working I don't feel like doing anything when I am off of work plus I do alot at work that pretty much qualifies as exercise because you have to keep at it, at a steady pace. I think it qualifies as exercise I know it makes me sweat... I will try to cut out some of my caffiene but helps keep me awake..lol...if it is so bad for it then why do they put it in Midol? Thanks for the advice I will try to put some of it to use...If i can keep these cramps away.

OK thanks for the info on that LA. And I will try to be more prepared next month. I usually am prepared and I have never really had any pms symptoms so it is kinda new territory for me which is why I asked about what I could do about it.

Caffeine is a diuretic, so it helps with water retention.

Caffeen also helps to get rid of migraines, so it does do some good. Just like most things, in moderation.

Their are things you can do at yuor desk whiel working; try taking 10 or 15 deep breasthes in and then out, slowly. Put your feet flat on the floor, hard on your knees, close your eyes, then fill your lungs with air, slowly, then excess just as slow, repeate 10 or 15 times, 20 if you can. Do this a few times, it helps.

I don't work at a desk, I am a cashier so I am on my feet all day moving around alot. I also stock sometimes and I help straighten the shelves at times when it is needed which is alot. But they like keeping me up front on the register since I am, as they said, the best one they have right now, but being on the register keeps me moving alot too. So, I get exercise maybe not in the traditional sense but I do get it.

I think we are talking about (or at any rate, I am talking about) exercise as an outlet.  Like walking for 2 miles, being outside, doing something away from your house, away from work.

Well, that is hard for me to do because I work alot and I like to relax when I get home esspecially since my feet hurt really bad when I get home and I can barely walk when I get to sit and relax. I know it helps and if I had the time to go to a swimming pool or the lake to swim and have fun I would but as of right now I work alot and if I am not working I have other things to do since I schedule things I need to do on my days off. Maybe one of these days I can get a better job than being a cashier and I will have more time off of work instead of working 12pm-9pm  everyday.

dont have much more to add other than addressing your feet issue.  i work retail and am on my feet over 40 hrs per week.  ive found investing in a good pair of sneakers really makes a huge difference.  either a good pair of walking shoes or cross trainers have done the trick for me.  also, investing once in a while in a pedicure helps the soul....no pun intended.  the massaging of the feet and calves is absolute heaven....exercising and building up your abs helps keep your back healthy, which can also affect how you feel at the end of the day

Well, my arches are falling in my feet which is why they are so painful, I used to have a custom made pair of shoes that I got from an orthopedic place and they have since tore up and I don't have 500 dollars to buy another pair. Even if I get a good pair of shoes I am still not going to be able to buy a pair with a very good and high arch support like the pair of shoes I had before. I would like to get a pedicure but I don't know of any places here that do...small towns don't have much in the way of pleasantries.
