Personally, it depends on my inner mood. Yes, others attitudes towards me can influence my mood, as well as songs/movies/the written word and etc... But I am at my best when the mood comes from within. If I'm feeling confident and happy I switch into Dom mode easily. When I'm emotionally vulnerable and unsure of myself, I become submissive. People have often said that I seem to have multiple personalities---one to fit each of my different moods. I guess my sexual proclivities are just an extension of that.

For me, as a more B&D sensual top, the trigger is seeing my work in the course of topping. I get incredibly turned on by my bottom in that position, and when I'm done I wind up yearning to be there. So, ultimately, seeing someone enjoy themselves makes me jealous and want to be them.
