Perving profiles brings up some very interesting questions from time to time and this time is no different. On my recent spurt of perving I noticed an overwhelming number of women who seem proud to call themselves a bitch. Now, I am OK with spirited but the last thing I want in my life is a bitch.

The question is, is that really supposed to be an attractive quality to any woman? And if so, why would any of us guys want a bitch to contend with?

Why do women think this is cool?

This is just to satisfy my curiosity, nothing more.

Oh, this was not just Collarme that I noticed this on too, it is on MySpace and other sites as well.

To me there are times when bitchiness is understood and can be a good thing. then there are other times when it is uncalled for. in my opinion it seems like the profiles that you may have seen could be attempting to attract a sub-set of the male population here that find that a turn on. personally, i don't find it a turn on, more so a turn off. now that being said, a bit of brattiness can be entertaining

Good question. i will be interested in the replies myself as i have noticed the same trend. i am not a bitch even when angry so i can not personally relate to this concept. i have never even been called a bitch to my knowledge...i just don't have it in my nature~

being a bitch is not an appealing quality in my opinion.

I think it goes along with the whole "in your face" attitude that many seem to espouse these days.

It’s over compensation in my humble opinion. Doormat types like to think of themselves as not doormats maybe. Don’t quote me on that because I’m not an expert on Doormatology.

I can * be a bitch*, but do not consider myself a bitch or a bitchy person.
Aileen is a Betch and damn proud of it, but a Betch is a whole nother kettle of fish. It is an endearing quality.

well my nick name on another site was "queen bitch" as i was a large and in charge kind of person, and when i turned on my "dominant powers" i was a force to be reckoned.

i am also quite a humorous, silly soul who just likes to make people laugh, and get a good spanking as well....  so WHO knows?  is the opposite of queen bitch the "plus sized fairy?" who knows ...

My entire point is that some strut being a bitch around like it is something to be proud of. Anyone has the potential to be a bitch but it baffles me that some actually revel in this.

It is baffling, Gauge. And it is unattractive.

BITCH = Being In Total Contol of Herself .. among other things.. I get called a bitch all the time, it doesn't bug me any more. It only has power if you give it power. I have my 'bitchy' moments, I apologize to those that I was bitchy too if it was unwarented, otherwise, no harm no fowl.

With all due respect, this has not been negative nor has it been a rant. This is me trying to satisfy my own curiosity. I have had plenty of experience with "bitches" and I must say that not one was positive, but this thread was not designed to cast that light upon the subject.

Would you care to illuminate me as to why you think that being a bitch is a positive thing?

It is baffling, Gauge. And it is unattractive.

I was going to "ditto" this, Level, and then I decided to look up the official definition (that's getting to be a habit what with the "Definition Gestapo" running rampant).  Here's what Merriam-Webster said:
Main Entry: 1bitch
Pronunciation: 'bich
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English bicche, from Old English bicce
1 : the female of the dog or some other carnivorous mammals
2 a : a lewd or immoral woman b : a malicious, spiteful, or overbearing woman -- sometimes used as a generalized term of abuse
3 : something that is extremely difficult, objectionable, or unpleasant

Personally, I don't mind being labeled "lewd" or "immoral" but "malicious, spiteful, or overbearing" would be a real insult to me.  I'm not sure that I see as many women taking pride in being a bitch as I see people labeling dominant-type women "bitches" simply because they dare to say they are dominant.  (Not saying you do, I just see that alot)...........luci

You bring up a very good point that I would like to clarify:

The bitch references were not exclusive to dominant women. A good deal of submissive women use the title as well. As I also pointed out in my OP the bitch references were not exclusive to this site either.
