i do not refer to myself as a bitch... but others might.

tenderfootmaster -> RE: Why is it trendy to be a bitch? (6/17/2007 8:52:07 PM)

-Fast Reply-

I cant stand to be with or even date a girl who willingly calls herself a bitch and enjoys it! - That’s just me…

gooddogbenji -> RE: Why is it trendy to be a bitch? (6/17/2007 9:09:12 PM)

I think the whole "bitch" thing is the result of women feeling empowered and looking for a way to express that in a way that takes no effort.

Much like the much reviled, "nigger," the group which originally was targetted by it has taken it back.  They can call themselves bitches, but it would be in poor form for me to say it beyond very few circumstances (Lifestyle events, maybe.  If I knew the woman, maybe.  Not much else.)

Is it an attractive quality?  In my fantasies, HELL YEAH!!!!  But then I think about it, and really, I just want a well balanced woman.  Sometimes a tad bitchy, maybe in the mornings, but why not call it grumpy?

Because they're taking it back.

Yours,

benji

LeMis -> RE: Why is it trendy to be a bitch? (6/17/2007 10:08:31 PM)

I know that many friends have asked why is it that the "good" guys go for the "bitches"...
rather than other gals...

LOL, couldn't figure out why "he" was with  "her", lol.  [:'(]

Yeah, we find it an unattractive quality as well, and refuse to act like "them" just to get one of those guys, lol.
This was brought up several years ago btw, not recently, we all grew out of that...  hehe  [;)]

ElectraGlide -> RE: Why is it trendy to be a bitch? (6/17/2007 11:18:28 PM)

Myspace has these bitch cut and paste graphics that a lot of ladies use, telling you a thousand ways how they are a bitch. If they are dum and drunk in all their photos with a beer can in one hand and a middle finger in the other hand, it is a triple looser to me. I guess they think it is cute.

ownedgirlie -> RE: Why is it trendy to be a bitch? (6/18/2007 1:07:06 AM)

Are you sure they mean it like that?  Could they be referring to themselves as "bitch" as in the humiliating/degrading form of the word?  When my Master calls me his bitch, he certainly is not referring to bitchiness.

Just wondering...I don't browse through profiles much so maybe the context I'm talking about doesn't apply.

spankmepink11 -> RE: Why is it trendy to be a bitch? (6/18/2007 1:30:32 AM)

I can be "grumpy" on occasion, and it can warm my heart to be called a bitch by my partner within the context of our activities.   The  "in your face" type bitchiness has never been attractive in my eyes.

Benji made a good point , but i think for many it's  simply an attention/drama/power bid....

For the sake of this context I would like to remove the BDSM aspect of this. I know that many dominants use it to refer to a submissive but, like you said, that is not the type of bitch I am referring to.

ownedgirlie -> RE: Why is it trendy to be a bitch? (6/18/2007 6:36:42 PM)

In that case, Gauge, I think it is odd.  It's the equivalent of a man boasting about being an asshole.  Hey there fella, really attractive, lol.

gooddogbenji -> RE: Why is it trendy to be a bitch? (6/18/2007 8:20:13 PM)

Hey!  I am an asshole.

Oh.  Wait.  Not good?

Well, you have an asshole... so it's not all bad... *grins*... and you don't mind having it played with... soooo... you're good. [;)]

As for why some women refer to themselves as a bitch... no idea. Not something I id with, nor understand. *shrugs*

SexyRed -> RE: Why is it trendy to be a bitch? (6/18/2007 8:54:58 PM)

I will chime in here on this. Women who call themselves bitches sometimes do so to indicate that they are strong or will not take crap from anyone. I hear it all the time in the business world. I am in high level sales. I constantly hear about this bitch or that bitch and it is always a woman who is empowered and confident.

It is the same over used word as diva, or slut.  If you call yourself a a word like bitch or slut, you could be chatting with your girlfriends saying wow, I feel like such a slut or I was such a bitch today, or if your man says my slut/bitch, it is a far different connotation than people talking about what a slut or bitch you are.

If you have a strong opinion and are very well spoken and assertive in business and in life, many times women are called bitches.

Semantics being what they are, I don't mind what people call me, whether in the boardroom or the bedroom I know who and what I am.

Being called a 'bitch' is only as insulting as one takes it. My bestf riend calls me a 'bitch' and my response is, 'I love you too.' If a guy calls me a bitch, I will probably get pissed if I dont know him or if he is being a prick.

Being a bitch is something you girls should be proud of [image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m6.gif[/image].  It means you either know what you want and you know how to get it.  Plus it just makes you that much more fun to tame [image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m11.gif[/image].

domiguy -> RE: Why is it trendy to be a bitch? (6/18/2007 9:26:35 PM)

When a woman use the term bitch it's counterpart is a guy referring to himself as an asshole.

When men use the word bitch it is often because they are in mixed company and it might not be appropriate to say "cunt."
