If you have the dark purple kinda bruises on your bottom, can you still get whipped or beaten there safely? I should add, that they are several days old.
Thankyou in advance for your time.

That's not an easy question to answer, as people's bodies are all different. A bruise is the result of tiny blood vessels being broken, and leaking blood into the surrounding tissues. Over a few days, the blood gradually disperses. There's probably no harm in being whipped over the top of existing bruises but it may hurt more as the tissue is already a bit swollen. If you did it consistently, never allowing healing to occur, it might lead to problems, but that depends on general health and circulation. I recommend arnica after play as arnica treats bruising and shock. The cream can be rubbed into the skin, which is nice, or you can take tablets. It speeds up the healing process. Massage also helps disperse the blood. Work from the outside to the middle as often as possible to stimulate the circulation and disperse the blood.

Arnica is a traditional herbal remedy for treating broken bones, bruising and shock. It can be obtained from health food outlets, and pharmacies that carry complementary medicines. It is used in homeopathy and herbalism. In New Zealand, where I come from, it was well regarded by many doctors. It has a long history of successful use. Sorry, but I don't know what OTC means - forgive me, I am probably showing my age, lol

OTC means over the counter

And yeah. You shouldn't be too worried unless the bruising doesn't fade at all or becomes overtly painful

ah, then yes, it's probably Over the Counter. I live in Australia, you see, and I'm not sure what's available in other countries, as things can differ from place to place, but I haven't heard of it being banned yet in the USA. Some countries are getting very difficult about traditional remedies, sigh

Arnica cream is indeed available in health food and possibly other stores in the U.S.
