The 5th Warsaw Equality Parade was to take place in June, but in May was declared illegal by Polish President Lech Kaczynski.

"It is the truth that the normal person is naturally critical of homoideology, but is also automatically called a homophobe. Every one of us has a choice. Do we, together with Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI and Mother Teresa of Calcutta, want to be called homophobes or together with Adam Michnik, Jerzy Urban and Joanna Senyszyn be called homophiles?"

Father Dariusz Oko, Doctor of Philosophy and Theology, employed by the Papal Academy of Theology in Krakow.

"We will be very sceptical of the Senate's project (to ban sexual deviants from teaching). Sad, but understandable I think. All these former eastern bloc countries have to do an awful lot of catching up with the west - economically theyre getting there, but socially I have to say that my impression is that apart from the Czech Republic and Slovenia, theyre still in about 1960 in terms of social evolution.

Things can be bad for we in the LGBT bracket in the west, but I shudder to think about how things were once, and how they might well be over there even now. Again I'm afraid, I see the sinister hand of the authoritarian church's stranglehold on societies at work.

I have a problem with the quote that no one is discriminated against....what are they doing then?
