Uhm...perhaps if you removed the books from the shelves, that would help?

Take the books out and turn it on its side.

wouldnt that just simple? Take the books out and put it on its side! HECK NO, and the bookcase is STILL at the door, mocking and laughing at me! If i take the books out and turn it on its side, the bookcase wins. i'd rather take the wall down!

Actually i'm just lazy and stubborn, thats a whole lot of books to take off the shelves and then put back on. <grumbles> i'd rather just sit here imagining i've a whip and the book case "hops" to it.

Well if it's anything like my bookcases, the books need dusting anyway.

In keeping with the finest of military thinking, I advise the bookshelf be blown up in place, to prevent it from falling into the hands of the enemy.
