this girl is cleaning up in the kitchen.

Snack tonight is in the two crock pots - hot cheese dip and hot spinach-artichoke dip.  There are bagel chips, pita chips and nacho chips to do the dipping.

i bought some wonton wrappers to experiment with - baking not frying.  i'm going to try some savory fillings.  They look easier to work with than phyllo.

Oooh, won-ton wrappers are a bitch to work with, especially in the oven.  They dry out so easily.  Honestly, with frying them, that's not a huge worry.  Just get the right oil and make sure it's at the proper temperature, and fried foods pick up surprisingly little of the oils and fats.  The reason most fried foods are so fatty and greasy, is because the temperature is too low.

Really going to want to avoid steaming those.  For steaming, you'll want more of a dumpling skin, they're a little different.  Do you have an asian market there?  The people at them are often astonishingly helpful and would be glad to help you out on things like that. :)
