How about a nice grilled trout?

There are a couple of brookies in the fridge, perhaps blacken in a cast iron skillet,Thats the way I love them,You can have your as with lemon all fancy,I want mine the cowboy way, cooked crisp, pick ems up and eat like an ear of core....

Lemon?  On Trout?  Blasphemy!

Filleted, with a coating of cornmeal and flour, plus some spices and fried over a fire and potaotes cubed with onions, butter, and garlic, cooked alongside in tinfoil.

My kind of woman....

Well, smoked is also pretty fantastic.  I have no idea how many times I brought my dad a bunch of trout to smoke for me.  He must really like me.

Of course, having three daughters and with as many yearly camping trips that we took, he is pretty proficient with the filleting of fish.

When I was about 7, he took us fishing and my sisters and I caught a WHOLE BUNCH of sunfish and blue gills, the man actually prepped them for us to eat.  The things fathers do for their daughters.  LOL

We do not watch TV because it has no redemming value.  There are a few shows that I like and I buy those on DVD.  TV is a communication killer.  Have you never noticed that all conversation in a room will dry up if a television is on.  I do not have a problem with some mindless entertainment.  However, TV has a tendancy to rule people's lives.  They are anxious to be home for such and such a show.  They put off doing things until a commercial.  TV also destroys peoples perceptions of themselves, their lives, and their goals.  If only we could be as pretty, thin, charming, glamorous, as those actors.  This kind of thinking eats away at self-esteem and sets people up for unreasonable expectations of themselves and their lives.  TV is also a passive activity.  You do not do anything but sit and stare.  No thinking or activity is needed.  You are told what to think and how to react.

So, with all of that, why would I subject myself or others to that?

Be that as it may, I was just trying to answer the question as completely as possible as to why *WE* do not watch TV.  In someone else's household, they can do as they please.

Dayum, I miss fishing in Colorado.

Just so everyone knows, Bounty will be off to the doctor on Tuesday.  I am not sure if there will be surgery on that day or not, but I siad that I would try and keep his thread going.

I know that I wish him the best of luck and I am sure that others do as well.

But. . .

We have coffee, pastries, and the cash drawer!  Any suggestions?

Oh, and I can answer any "Ask Dr. Bounty" questions.
