Well hey all... wanted to share my morning with you all....

Saw the sky this morning as I was driving home from my 6:50 a.m. class.... The moon was high above the mountains, starting to sink down, the mist half blocked out trees, the boats, the houses.  But as I looked over the water, I could see little craggy islands jutting up out of the water... I wondered which were Korea, which were Japan... Looking out over the East Sea... yep... the East Sea.... sigh.

You see, I'm a small town girl from the middle of nowhere and here I am , in Asia... I'm just amazed at my good fortune.  I wish you all a beautiful and breathtaking day...

Tomorrow we're having Korean food - the not-too-spicy kind.  You'll like it, I promise.. I mean you liked the honey tea with the lemon zest, right?  I know you did.  Now as Christine, that beautiful golden haired, silver tongued girl says... trust sunshinemiss...

cause I only got love for you and goodness in my heart.

good morning all!  and yes, you should trust her.   ~~walks in and pours myself a cup of coffee and sits down to wait for korean food, wishing like hell it was friday...put a little extra kick in mine ok sunshine?~~

pahunkboy -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (1/31/2008 5:20:45 AM)

sunshinemiss -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (1/31/2008 5:30:41 AM)

Well hey there everybody..

It IS Friday here - well almost - 2 more hours to go and it will be....so since you all are gonna be dealing with the whole International Date Line thing, let me tell you what y'all are gonna get...

Man Doo - steamed dumplings - Kim Chee Mandoo for those who are vegetarian, and bulgogi (meat) mandoo for those who are carnivorous.
Gimbop - basically Korean sushi rolls only with cooked meat or tuna... or veggie only...

three choices for main dishes:
JaJang Mien - noodles in a black bean sauce - easy and not a bit spicy, but yummy nonetheless, with a side of cucumber slivers
Dak galbi  for everybody as a main course - spicy chicken stir fry with noodles (at Christine's request)
Sangyetang - Chicken ginger soup for all the people coming in from the cold.
Bulgogi - marinated beef... cooked on an indoor grill right here at your table... *need to get someone to rig that up... but I have faith!

and of course a million side dishes - sesame spinach, seaweed salad (which is really yummy and good for you), tofu in a soy/red paste sauce, fried sausage slices, kim chee, pickled raddish, anchovies, and pickle slices.

For desert - some tiny (1 inch) oranges that you pop in your mouth, eating them skin and all...and roasted chestnuts, cooked over the fire if Miss H doesn't mind giving me a lil room for that.

And OF COURSE, Soju - rice wine, we'll all lift a cup and say "gumbay!"

If you want to show off what you can do with those hands, I'll give you some chopsticks - and if you're a novice, here's a website to learn how to eat with chopsticks!  Now don't be shy, try it.. and wear some old clothes in case you drop food... We promise not to laugh at you......  only with you.

next week, I'll tell you how I got here... and YOU tell me how to get back there!

hey girl, i'll take one of everything, i'm hungry today!  i've tried a few times to use chopsticks with no luck at all...i'm wondering though, why do you need chopsticks when you have fingers?   i bet Godz would be more nimble with them than i am hehe.  i'll just sit here and wait with my coffee and my clean fingers...something so damned tactile and slightly erotic about eating with fingers...hmmmm, especially if your being fed...oh hell, i must be in a mood today.  ~~crosses legs and bounces foot in the air and concentrates on my coffee~~

MissHarlet -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (1/31/2008 11:57:45 AM)

:pouring coffee and handing out applesauce:::as I watch and smell what sunshine is doing .. cant wait to taste it all

chellekitty -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (1/31/2008 3:29:36 PM)

this sucks ass...we can't go outside...cedar pollen is at a record high - normal "high" is at a 400 to 500 count...yesterday's count was 21,000+ - there is dust blowing in from across the state, and because it is so dry there are brush fires catching all over the place...i went outside to smoke, and was out there for less than 5 minutes, put my cig out early and went back inside, my mouth was coated in dust and tasted like smoke...my nose was running like no body's business...we need a drenching week long rain...or something...

argh....

I did smile,the rain has started and freezing on the roads,it should be a mess for those heading to work early in the morning,I believe that 70 degrees all around Thur the year would be a pleasant environment to live , where would that be even on the ranch it was misable at times...

BOUNTYHUNTER -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (1/31/2008 6:13:47 PM)
