Hanable: The people at the hotline do not judge. People who advocate for victims are not in the position of believing that there needs to be "proof". They are well aware they abusive people rarely leave much proof. They are ALSO well aware that abuse doesn't equal physical violence. Abuse is about control and violation. Its not necessarily about being physically violated. The people at the hotline KNOW that too. They know you don't deserve this. They know you don't "make" yourself be abused. To reiterate: they don't judge. Ultimately: what can it hurt to reach out for MORE support and advocacy? I've been in your shoes: I know it seems hopeless, but its not. You are not alone. You are worth, EVERYONE is worth, living a life free from harm. Everyone, including you, is worth a life free from being battered verbally or physically. No one ever does anything to deserve physical abuse, verbal abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, spiritual abuse, or any other types of abuse. No one deserves to be violated. There are resources, there is help. Again, you are not in this alone even when it appears so. Feel free to email me on the other side for more links and local resources.
