BOUNTYHUNTER -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (6/19/2008 12:48:07 PM)

Question of the day..Bush wants to open up drilling offshore and in the national parks..I say no drilling..So heres the question to all of you...WHAT WOULD YOU GIVE UP TO MAKE SURE YOUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN WERE LEFT WITH A BETTER GOOD GREEN EARTH,ONE BETTER THEN YOU FOUND IT...WHAT WAYS ARE YOU SAVING ENGERY,WALKING MORE ,TAKING PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION ETC...BOUNTY

fluffypet61 -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (6/19/2008 1:26:33 PM)

45 mpg

cravesdom -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (6/19/2008 1:31:21 PM)

I did the public transportation thing when I worked normal hours. But I can't catch a bus home at 3 in the morning! Thinking of working from home and really saving gas!

MissHarlet -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (6/19/2008 1:39:49 PM)

Im changing type of light bulbs and cleaners and trashbags ..and dont even own a vehicle anymore.....I plant trees and  plants and use as many plants for shade to help with energy bills as possilbe....Also pay attention to the type of containers I buy products in. ..container gardening etc etc etc

christine1 -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (6/19/2008 1:46:15 PM)

Bounty, i'm all for drilling....i'm also all for being a responsible consumer.  i do all my trips in the car at once to save gas, i buy anything green i that i can.  i use as little power as i can get away with and i don't need much really.  i don't think drilling will ruin the national parks or kill wildlife.  i do think we need to support ourselves as a country as much as we can and not outsource so much.  i know there is a way we can do this and still have beautiful country for generations to come.

fluffypet61 -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (6/19/2008 1:56:54 PM)

One problem with drilling now is that it will take at least 5 years before the oil makes it to the pump.  That isn't going to solve today's problem.  i think high prices will help encourage people to cut back.

i've started walking to Bounty's Coffee Shop instead of driving. i would ride a bicycle ... but naked on a bicycle???

I agree girl, it would take years before even the first barrel of crude would be in the pipeline...

fluffypet61 -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (6/19/2008 2:21:02 PM)

What? no comment on the naked bike riding?

christine1 -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (6/19/2008 2:30:09 PM)

it might take a while for the oil to produce but better than not doing anything, who knows what it will be like in 4 or 5 years?

5 years or not, we need to start being more self reliant as a nation and stop relying on foreign countries for our necessities.  that's just my opinion though.

and fluffy, you'd rather walk naked than bike naked?  i guess it depends on how much you want to be seen lol.

cravesdom -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (6/19/2008 2:31:41 PM)

Biking naked just sounds uncomfortable though!
