So is anybody else noticing that a lot of folks are kind of tired of the threads being hijacked by a few people... When I want to read some real replies, all I find are pages and pages of crap to wade through.... I was talking with quite a few CMers - very clever and witty people - who have seriously scaled back or stopped posting because of all the nonsense.... You know when people just goof off and act like attention whores, when a serious issue comes up, sometimes people don't believe them... "Is this just another attention grabbing stunt," we wonder.  You would think that multiple threads made just for them would give them a clue....

This is one of the reasons I've not been around as much... And I've learned to respond to the threads only in the beginning of them or I go to the Gorean side where things are more serious.  I like a joke as much as the next slut, but jesus shut the hell up and let other people talk.

edited to add:  No, I don't think the mods are doing a bad job.  No, I don't think I should boss people around.  But, yes, I do think people should be aware of how their behavior is affecting others and their own reputation.  So feel free to give me shit, but I stand behind what I'm saying. Oh yeah, and if all you want to do is share in inane chatter, great... there is a chat room... go at it... have a great time... but I'm sick of the endless pages of nonsense to get a few grains of wit, advice, interest.  end of edit.

Here's lunch help yourselves... Italian wedding soup and pastrami on rye.

christine1 -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (7/16/2008 1:17:00 PM)

that's perfect sunshine...so is the wedding soup!  rofl.

fluffypet61 -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (7/16/2008 1:43:49 PM)

i hope my constant cleaning doesn't bother anyone.

Now i'm working on the refrigerator.  There are things in here that are becoming science experiments!  Tomorrow i'll toss anything that is not labeled with a date and a description of the contents.

sunshine...Bounty...anyone - are you familiar with a perennial plant/flower called monkshood (genus:aconitum)?  Do you know where to get it?  Master wants some.

Hummmmmmm sounds good and sunshine thats why I keep a tight hold on the shop, if you noticed in the past an attempt was made to high jack the shop but I won't put up with it and yes there are ways to deal with it with out getting the mods involved if you get my drift...

christine1 -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (7/16/2008 3:14:42 PM)

ok questions folks...i've got papers all over my booth here doing my resume.  do you think it helps that i put i was a stay at home mom for 12 years?  what about church leadership positions a few years ago?  i'm brain dead, someone please help me!

KMsAngel -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (7/16/2008 3:29:18 PM)

christine, put it in, but keep it vy short. employers want to know what you've done with your time - you could have been in jail as far as they know!

def put in church leadership positions and the sort of things you had to do (chair meetings, organise committees, etc etc)

somehow slip in there that your phenomenal ability to mutlitask and accomplish simultaneous goals (being a mom) is a part of your life experience. when we look through resumes for our jobs, we try to look at the big picture and life experience is actually a large part of it, as is attitude. cover letters for us are a very definite hook. if you can explain your resume with skill, then it's not secondary, but it's a PART of the whole.

christine1 -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (7/16/2008 3:32:47 PM)

Yes add them both ,it shows responsibility, a stay at home mom is one of the toughest jobs out there and your church position shows that you are out there and involved...
