Perhaps not really country but IMHO one of the best guitar slingers that ever lived and also a Texan SRV (Stevie Ray Vaughn)
although I did see him get smoked by a blind man , Jeff Healy

Oh I love Steve Earl.  I have liked his music since I was a kid.  I bought Guitar Town on vinyl when it came out.  I still have it in my collection.  He's a great songwriter and musician.  I don't agree with his politics most of the time, but that's seems to be the case with a lot of artists that I like.

Uh, we are not discussing the Bureau Of State Security branch of Homeland Security, the secret police with the black stealth helicopters that can run in a whisper mode?

Those guys in black that show up after you report a UFO sighting?

The guys that have you brainwashed so that you always have to buy a copy of catcher in the rye (actually, that part didnt work on me, but I have 30 copies of "the Story of 'O'")

Uh, what the hell are you talking about?  Who said anything about conspiracy theories in this thread.  It's a thread about a musician.

ah, gotcha.  You do have an interesting sense of humor, jlf.  I was just trying to figure out what was going on in that head of yours.

Nobody knows what is going on in that head of mine, including shrinks, doctors, spiritual advisors etc.

I keep saying that I have a cross between windows xp, Linux, COBOL, and UNIX for a neurological operating system which sometimes leads to strange out put and equally strange jumps in logic.

If Steve was as good as The Boss he'd be as big and well known as The Boss. I've heard some of Earle's music and I liked it. It was okay. I didn't hear anything to give "Born To Run" a run for its money.
