Status: offline 		Seriously, I don't know how to quantify greatness in acting, but in terms of providing me with the most hours of enjoyment, spread across a wide variety of roles I'd go with Denzel Washington.

Not sure if I could put anyone up there as the greatest...but if put on the spot...I would have to say Katherine Hepburn and ...Marlon Brando...they both knew how to grab a role  and milk it for all it was worth.

Status: offline 		I've always been a huge fan of Robert DeNiro.  Al Pacino has become a sell out, I think.  I love Ray Liotta, and Johnny Depp, although they both have different styles.  oh, and even tho he's not the greatest actor...Christian Bale.  dang.

I love Kate Winslet...think she's a really excellent actress, and beautiful too.

edited to add:  I realize some of these folks aren't American!!!

yeppers,,,that guy is a great actor in my view. i dont think he has ever disappointed . whether it was big screen or small.
