I was talking to a few people who after hearing the duties that I perform on a daily basis said I seem to be more of a slave. So I was just curious as to what is the real difference because I dont feel like a slave. I havent given up total control. I just do alot for my master. I do all of the housework, run all of the errands, take care of any business that she asks of me, I cook all of the meals etc... It just feels like that traditional housewife thing.

The label that fits you is the label that is right for you. If you and your master are happy with 'submissive' then that is the right one for you.

Defining the difference between submissive and slave is a bit like defining TPE - everyone has a different interpretation and a different emphasis. So why not go with what works for you?

Maybe it is that way because that is the way she wants it.

In my opinion, to feel like you're a slave or a submissive is not in the things you do, but in how you do them and how does it make you feel.

Every time I have to do something outside my relationship (school work for example) I don't put the same energy and effort in doing it. But every time I have to do something for him, I do it with all my senses and care, because I know he'll be really happy. That never makes me feel ordinary.

I do everything in my power to make her happy. When I see her happy it fills me with so my joy in seeing this. I always want the best for her and no less. If I haven't done something to her expectations it tears me apart inside. When I do something she hasn't expected and I see her smiling inside as well as on the outside I feel like I have went a step further. And I strive for this. The more I do for her and the happier she becomes makes me happier.

Nuts I think it's far too early to be trying to nail down definitions and labels for yourself. Let it grow and give it time to breathe for awhile first.

If you want, there's about a dozen threads already on the "sub versus slave" debate on the forum to research.

I have read many of the posts already. I am just curious as to which direction I may be headed in. It seems that everyones definition varies a little. I see myself as a submissive not a slave at all. Maybe I am just a little nervous as well about my journey.

Everyone's definition is different... totally totally different... stick it out and see. And do what works for you and what feels right for YOU.

It really is whatever the two of you decide. I do all of the same things you do and more. Although I would never identify with my definition of a slave.

When I was seeking a dom year's ago. Many doms told me I was a slave...but I never will be.

My definition and my doms is the one we go by.

Ditto to everyone else- everyone's definition is different. I consider myself a submissive too, as opposed to a slave. But it's not a big deal to me about what I label myself as. I know what I am, and that's good enough for me.

AMEN! Gloria, i must agree in reverse, lol. Master and i have a personal definition of slave that works for U/us. Most people, when observing U/us and my behaviour ( i am NOT a brat, but i am permitted a lot of verbal leeway) would never peg me as a slave, but Master says i am and i agree, and that's all that matters. Nonuts, go with the term that makes you and your Master happy and don't worry about what everyone else does.
