Well it is rare we get to see such devoted passive aggressive material on the boards anymore, so it's nice to see a good example.

and don't forget about Dad "my girl does no wrong..  you are just misunderstanding her.. it's all your fault."'

SA, You're right, it IS a question, although it appears she's already formed an opinion and is asking this question in a condescending manner.  It is how it APPEARS.  Is the question being taken out of context?  What was the original intent of the question?

This:

Flames don't bother me or I wouldn't read forums.  I'm actually amused that so many people are offended by a "question."  I still don't get the point of having separate forums if everyone posts in them, but the thread has been good for some laughs.  My predictions about certain people I knew would follow me to this thread have been confirmed.  LOL

certainly helped verify my initial reaction to the question.

If she was truly curious as to why people post on different forums, then this entire "question" should have been excluded.  It smacks of self righteousness and i'm actually surprised MORE posters haven't called her to the mat for it.  i've seen people get torn a new ass over smaller faux pas...myself included.

Who is more guilty of attack? One who maybe could have worded a question better or the masses who jump to defense mode and attack her without first knowing (or even *gasp* asking) what her intent was?

Oh my... is that .. is that... mmmmm nope.. almost an admission of error to communicate.....

No instead... we going to try the oooooooh poor girl she is getting ganged up on for MAYBE a tiny little error in wording.

aaaaaaawwww you got my deepest regret. mmmmmmmmm well ok maybe not.

To be serious... maybe no.. Without doubt I think that if the OP would of simple acknowledged the poor wording and simply rephrased it wouldn't of been an issue.  But... there was nothing but passive agressive posts that seek to evade responsibility rather than accept it.  Regardless of what a person does wrong... it has been my experience that people have even less tolerance for the shit she pulled.  And your attempts to defend her is just making it worse.

MadRabbit -> RE: Why do so many Doms (7/11/2007 5:44:33 PM)

What I want to know is what the hell is wrong with you people?

This is a Rabbit Approved Posting zone.

Can you not read?!!!!

(And on a serious note, I would consider this a learning experience regarding the underbelly of Collarme.com. Any thread that beings with "Why do/dont people do <INSERT RANDOM ANNOYANCE>?" is going to almost always receive very negative responses. Particularly if it involves the subjects "Why dont all the subs treat doms a special way?", "Why dont people respond to my email?", "Why dont people write their profiles a certain way?", and "Why dont we all just get along"?)

Could you explain how "Is the urge to be heard that desperate that people can't control themselves from answering questions not directed toward them?" leaves the intent to question? If she did, indeed, desire to be not be insulting and wanted honest responses, perhaps you need to work with her on her commication skills. If this was a mistake of poor word choice, at least now she had learned a lesson.

People will react when they feel like they have been slighted.  It's a common reaction, however she didn't once say she was being taken out of context.  i addressed this  myself (i'll admit it was in a sarcastic manner):

quote:

ORIGINAL: SubinMaine
It's my opinion (and it's ONLY an opinion) that no one was offended by the original question at all.  And it would seem that a simple "Gee, i'm sorry i offended anyone, maybe my comment could have been worded a bit better" would have been a bit more appropriate than the "fluff it off as my knowing this would be the reaction from certain posters that want to follow me around so i feel my actions are justified due to my "predictions" about these posters."

Then THIS is posted:
quote:

ORIGINAL: petal7
As for my "prediction" - yes.  The reason it's amusing to me is that I rarely post anything . . . but the one time I asked in a post basically why we had to target individuals in our answers rather than actually trying to help (i.e. can't we all just get along), I was accused of being judgemental.  Well, that's okay too . . . if someone feels judged by the words of a complete stranger, there is little I can do about that.

I won't apologize for the way my message was taken.  I tried that and I was flamed again so that tactic doesn't work here.

Basically, she feels the second question wasn't rude at all, while MANY posters feel it WAS...You, obviously, know her quite well and that would give you a greater insight to how her motivations run.  That being said, remove Yourself from the situation for a moment and view the second question in the original post, then her second post and her final post from the eyes of someone who DOESN'T know her, do you still find it not rude?

I wish Valyraen would do a retrogression when I screw up the wording of something and insult people. He always leaves me out to hang. He says it builds character. [:'(]

Edited to ask: Retrogression is the term used for when comics decide "No that isn't what happened. It was all a bad dream, this is what happened!", right? *ponders*

.. you seem to have a unique idea of what a Flame is.

Essentially most define a "Flame" as an isult directed at someone... or group of people.

Now.. Lets look at some facts of what was posted here.....

quote:

Is the urge to be heard that desperate that people can't control themselves from answering questions not directed toward them?

The above quote came from the OP and which in my opinion is what cause much of the issue.   and  why is that?

Well.....

The question in essense was asked as an absolute..  therefore anyone asks this will be required to answer as YES.. with states people are desperate and can't control themselves... mmmmmmm that in equates to it being a Flame!

Now.. of course it could be answer as a NO.. mmmmmmm but.. now this is where it gets interesting.. you ready for this

quote:

When she offers me a suggested response, 99% of the time, she wants me to DISagree with it. Either to prove her wrong or to start some type of meaningful dialogue.

So.. Dad comes along and defends girl.. and relates how much he knows her.. and  basically.. with 99% assurance (pretty damn certain if you ask me) states that she wanted us to prove her wrong or start some meaningful dialogue.

Well...  now.. the question is worded in such a manner that it conveys an opinion in the question.  Therefore, what she was asking us to do... remember we can be 99% certain of this... Prove Her Wrong.

So.... in otherwords... We say NO.. to her question.. We don't insult others that post on the boards.. but We are to prove her wrong.. which indicates she is saying YES..

mmmmmmmmm now I wonder.. who is flaming who?
