that's nothing, ever since AT&T took over Cingular, they've dropped more calls then anyone i've ever been with. AT&T is a rip-off and i can hardly wait until my contract is up so i can..."DUMP THEM"

slaverosebeauty -> RE: Sprint dropped 1200 cutomers-who complained too much (7/10/2007 10:52:13 AM)

Give me a week, they may try to dump me, my cell phone keeps 'burning' and getting hot after 20 min of use. I have already swapped it out once. I got someone in management fired at Sprint [2 weeks ago, tyvm] and I am still around, they must like me, or at least the guys who I praise do and the service center guys do. I talk to managers when I have horrible service and when I need to complain, an I talk to managers when I have incredible service and when I want to praise service; maybe thats why I am still around.

It's customers who called the helpline too much.

Lordandmaster -> RE: Sprint dropped 1200 cutomers-who complained too much (7/10/2007 2:26:15 PM)

If they're telling the truth, the people they dropped consistently called Customer Service 40-50 times a month.  I'm inclined to agree with Sprint that that's abusing the service.

sub4hire -> RE: Sprint dropped 1200 cutomers-who complained too much (7/10/2007 2:28:01 PM)

If only Cingular would drop me.  We have zero service here.  Zero service for at least 110 miles in any direction.  I have over 9000 rollover minutes.  They want me to take a lesser plan so I don't end up with so many rollover minutes.  Yet, don't want me to dump them all together.

Maybe I should start calling them everyday asking them why I have no service?

sub4hire -> RE: Sprint dropped 1200 cutomers-who complained too much (7/10/2007 2:33:07 PM)

I don't know.  I hope so.  What did I miss?  Do I get to be phased out in Feb?

Details, details.

sub4hire,
i have to ask......
why would you go with a provider, that doesnt have service in ur area?
i assume you moved to tha tarea after the purchase?

Hello KatyLied; according to this, I can't hold Sprint accountable for any wrong doing.

Once; awhile back, Sprint, (my provider), would make a courtesy call. Here is the story: I have service going for 15 years, then, and I usually took along all the upgrades; so the monthy statement was nice for them. They used to make courtesy calls, if your bill wasn't paid, in the allowed time frame; I was late only once; I get this call; "sir, we would like to remind you, etc., etc, " so, I called back, thanked them, and in I fly with my payment. Nice, I congradulate their customer service, this was great. Even wrote a letter to the CEO, I was so impressed with the friendliness.

A few years go bye; My phone is disconnected, WOW, I enquire, seems, once again, I forgot to pay the bill in the scheduled time frame. Now, cut-off. So, I trek to the office, pay the bill, late fees, and reconnect charges...then I ask; "whatever happened to your 'courtesy call'"?...replie, "We were losing too much money"...so people would pay the bill when reminded, I suppose, no late fees, no reconnect charges. So, I asked, what services do I have, that were in upgrade of the base service...they told me...I cancelled ALL, excepting the base service.

Now, every month that passed, they lose, their 180+ bucks in upgrades, every month. So what, I'm just one guy. But consider, in the late fees, and the reconnect fee, in 6 weeks, they lost those charges, as they themselves paid for them in lost revenue, and every month thereafter even more, so...it has cost them, thousands, for not making that one little courtesy call; multiply that by other customers. And I don't miss the upgrades, don't miss the cell...I could not care less what they offer.

Man, i wish i could do that to some of our customers. Every so often the suits realize that the cost of greasing squeaky wheels is more than the cost of replacing them.

Of course, in three months somebody reads a different book on management and decides that it's all about market percentage, and they end up getting them back...

'cause they have no towers & they aren't building (enough) new ones

FatDomDaddy -> RE: Sprint dropped 1200 cutomers-who complained too much (7/10/2007 6:17:05 PM)

I guess it depends on where you live. I have had Cingular/ATT for well over a year and have not had a even a sniff of trouble. I have been very happy with their service

And Kudos to Sprint.

MstrssPassion -> RE: Sprint dropped 1200 cutomers-who complained too much (7/10/2007 6:35:38 PM)

I have Verizon

During those rough 2 years when we had a friggin hurricane every 2 weeks during the summer ( 4 that went right through my area, 1 directly over me) we were the only ones with service

I've had no problems with service anywhere in the state & that includes my internet service... thats all I can comment on since I don't get out of Florida.

If the problem isn't resolved, how is calling to resolve an issue "abuse"?

Lordandmaster -> RE: Sprint dropped 1200 cutomers-who complained too much (7/10/2007 6:55:35 PM)

I don't know who's telling the truth, so I can't judge this one, but even if there's a problem that the company hasn't resolved, calling Customer Service 40-50 times a month isn't the solution.

When they don't bother to hire/train/supervise competent losers to answer the phones, what *is* the way to get an issue resolved?

What if you just get tired of listening to the "We Care about your call" loop for 30 minutes, hang up, and ring back in? I *suspect* that's what was happing more often than not.

Lordandmaster -> RE: Sprint dropped 1200 cutomers-who complained too much (7/10/2007 7:32:07 PM)

I don't know, fargle--as I said, I don't know who's telling the truth, and I can't judge this.

But it should be clear long before call no. 40 that you aren't going to get your problem resolved by calling Customer Service one more time.  Sometimes you just have to sue the bastards.  And ask yourself what would happen if you were in a situation like that and you sued.  The best you could hope for is that you'd be released from your contract with the carrier.  Well, that's exactly what they're doing...

And I'm sure some people just aren't capable of using cell phones.  Technical support for computers got real expensive real fast because they kept getting calls from dolts asking how to reboot their machine.

Polynikes -> RE: Sprint dropped 1200 cutomers-who complained too much (7/10/2007 7:51:22 PM)

I'm in Maine.  I had Sprint 5 or 6 years ago.  It was ok but I had limited coverage.  Then I tried AT&T and dropped every single call.  I switched to Verizon and I have had almost ZERO problems in about 4 years.  Verizon is pricey, but you get what you pay for; excellent service.  If a company offers substandard service, yet still charges full price for that service, they deserve to hear every complaint they receive.
