Most IUD complications happen in the first 6 weeks of use. I doubt that you are going to cause any problems because of the addition of the IUD past this period. Of course as the poster before me stated, its not a safe thing to be punched in the stomach, but everything in life is a risk. It just depends whether you know and accept the risks. However, your IUD should not increase that risk significantly after its in a month and a half. That all said, if you ever start getting weakness (especially if worse when standing), diffuse abdominal pain, pain in either shoulder/shoulder blade, vomiting, blue-ish discoloration around your belly button or flanks, or discoloration of your urine, get thee to an ER. The worst stuff to hit in your belly is higher, so if you are going to choose this risk, lower is probably marginally safer. Best, Nick
