Adelphus -> Seeking proofreaders for a novel (7/11/2007 9:18:19 AM)

Hey there, just finished a piece of erotica that I need proofread/edited before I start sending it out to publishers and agents. I'm looking for serious proofers/editors only, people that have a knowledge of the writing market, publishing industry, english majors, authours of published works or anyone else that can take a good, critcal eye to this. The fact that it lesbian erotica with BDSM themes makes it hard for me to ask just anyone to read it so I thought I'd start here.
Cheers!

Adelphus -> RE: Seeking proofreaders for a novel (7/11/2007 6:30:58 PM)

Hmmm...I guess I asked for the wrong thing, my bad! I think what I'm looking for is for someone to tell me if it reads well, is consistent, doesn't drag and stuff. Sorry about that!
I guess you don't have to be a pro in this case, I just need feedback from people who would be in the position to know if it's publishable or needs work still.
Cheers!

Probably ought to be able to spell and use good grammer too.  Maybe even catch wrong word form, wrong word things spell check won't catch. [:)]

wildthingLR -> RE: Seeking proofreaders for a novel (7/16/2007 9:27:07 AM)

W/we are writers, and would be more than happy to both proof, and check for paradox, continuity etc.  W/we have O/our own screen play with an agent now, so i DO know how important all of this is!!!

Regards,

rhia[:D]

justinasamerk -> RE: Seeking proofreaders for a novel (7/20/2007 7:31:46 PM)

Lady Shimla,
i would be interested in the information your publishing company has as well. According to Collarme, your profile doesnt exist so it is difficult to write back to you. In this forum you cannot leave your email address...
Please contact me through the collarme side, and i would greatly appreciate any information you have..
Sincerely
justina

justinasamerk -> RE: Seeking proofreaders for a novel (7/20/2007 7:33:01 PM)

Adelphus,
if you are still looking for an extra editor, i would be more then happy to do so as well. I really enjoy reading various works, and somehow always find the spelling errors made..lol.
Please feel free to contact me.
Thank you,
justina

Sorry all -- I've turned my "collarme' profile back on -- it doesn't list publsihing as I didn't update it.  It's brief because I joined to check out the advertising possiblities -- I own an Adult Toy Store.

I can be reached off this forum through my store http://www.4-eroticastores.com of course the front would be 'abryne'. Hope that's not to complicated.

Thank you for your response

Adelphus -> RE: Seeking proofreaders for a novel (7/24/2007 8:08:04 AM)

Oh geeze! No one responded for a while so I figured this thread was dead! Crap, so many willing readers! Okay, let me send it to y'all.;-)

Miranda Heart is a friend of sorts.  She is ALWAYS looking for good erotica to review, as are her "accomplice's" in writing.

Take a look at the websites for great editors and reviewers.

They might even help get your writing published.

Good luck

The only way to contact Miranda Heart is her email I think, and it just got bounced when I tried to use it. Is there another way...?

Which email address did you use?
Contact me on the other side and I will give you her business email address.

willowspirit -> RE: Seeking proofreaders for a novel (7/24/2007 12:08:11 PM)

I have been a professional proofreader (mainly a "continuity" proofreader with an emphasis in personality and psychology of the characters, and plot structure. (My last job was a murder mystery for an already published author.) I was an English major, and I'm currently adding a Liberal Studies with a Communications Emphasis to the mix; adding on to the B.A. degree.
One of my courses this summer term is Mass Communications and the Media. I have an "A" so far.
As for knowing the market, my info is a bit out of date, but I still have some contacts, and I know of an agent -- or two.
  Good luck!
