Hackers will always exist and be annoyance[8\|] I guess the only thing you can do is to protect yourself. The police doesn't really seem to care at all, nor do ISP's at least not the ones here heh. They simply can't be bothered as stupid as it may be..as long as it isn't hacking in some humongous company that loses big money that have big ass attorneys..then everybody comes crawling willing to help n be a hero.

I really don't think that major corporations are going to leave huge bugs in their software. I don't think the security folks in the computer industry are going to leave major bugs undiscovered nor are they going to keep quiet about bugs they do discover. Given that today's hacking is done for economic reasons, I don't think that hackers skilled enough to discover bugs in major software are hardly going to use them to hack i.m. accounts for people on collarme. They'll hack the big banks. In short, if there is some undiscovered world-class hacker who has uncovered some world-class bug in major software why is he wasting his time dogging you instead of ripping off the banks for millions? However "...They say anything can be traced..." They (whoever they are) are dead wrong.

i am sorry that you have to go though so much drama and i have been kind of following this thread, however my question is, if you are not going to name, names, why make the big announcement that you are leaving? I mean yes you did warn everyone about what could happen, but did not say who was doing it…

Lockit, i sent you a message on the other side. i know exactly what you are going through. i had to change my home number and cell number 3 times. No one would do a damn thing. Until i moved, he would drive by my home. The worst part? my stalker/hacker, x 'master' is a Microsoft softwear engineer. He helped write Vista. If you are not a um being stalked by a predator, no one gives a flying you-know-what.[:@]

HI Lockit for starters I say that this kind of person deserves to be shot with a ball of his own shit. But barring that and no offense MissyRaine but not all processes show in the task manager. what she really would want to do is get a copy of hijackthis from majorgeeks.com http://www.majorgeeks.com/download5554.html what this application does is log every single application and script that is ran. that will show anything that is running as a process (background or visible) then pass that log onto a person with a wealth of computer knowledge. I would even go as far as suggesting to email me the log here at cm. having worked with all various systems and somewhat skilled with the art of programming (been doing it since 96) they will be able to point out the intrusive application.(then trace the signals coming from the application) Its quite possible that he got your information with a spy application on the unformattable partition. NOTE: You should be able to format that partition as a standard process during the os installation. on a side note... you can get a copy of partition magic by symantec and that will format and clean up that partition despite anything that was done to the system. another application you may want to look into to ensure your security and prove his intrusive habits would be norton internet security professional. Definately get a router with a hardware firewall built in and set the security up on it many of the dlink routers are adequate but the word in the industry is that the belkins routers are the number one for security and locking down a network. LothLauren, Thank you. Is there a way that someone can create a hidden network that sends all this type of info back to them rather than me? This guy set something up where he was administer... I couldn't do anything to change anything and had some things in another language that I couldn't change. Messed with all my settings... had hidden files... and took over all my hotmail accounts... etc... Thank you so much... will be checking into this and all things everyone else suggested.

wow popye....while even i think sometimes just to just do away with people like that two wrongs still dont make a right. im sorry to hear about what you are having to go through lockit....while i have never been stalked like that...i know what it is like to be harrassed by someone you cant get away from (my exhusband) i wish you all the best of luck in getting rid of this creep and being able to return to a "normal" life.

If this is a real situation, that's a real big if IMO, he apparently has a keylogger on your computer. How he delivered one to your box through IM is a mystery to me except by maybe getting you to click a link. Getting rid of the thing isn't too tricky. all the good spyware tools will get the common ones. Although you shouldn't get rid of it if you find it. Keyloggers are used for ID theft and are a big deal federal offense. Call your local federal prosecutor's office and get in touch with whichever lawyer in the office is in charge of these investigations. He'll want the box which he'll be able to use to trace back to the hacker. With a hacker in the US he's looking at a stay in a federal prison and some sort of parole condition that will allow him to work digging ditches. Now for another repeat of good hygiene for your computer. You must have a good software or hardware firewall for your computer, zonealarm is free and very reliable for the PC. You must have a good virus scanner on your computer.You must set up the scanner to scan every email and attachment you receive as well as all downloaded webcontent. You must setup the virus scanner to update its database and software whenever there is an update available. You must run full system scans on a regular basis. You must get at least 2 quality malware scanners, adaware and hijackthis are mine. You must keep the malware scanners up to date and run regular scans. You msut check you OS's website on a regular basis and download and install any security related patches. You must not ever put any important identifying info on your PS. Specifically never store SS #'s, CC #' or bank account numbers on a computer. Only provide this info to a website a verified secure connection, https instead of http in the addy as well as some sort of graphical symbol on each browser. Do not sign up for accounts with your online stores where they store your CC #'s.

i never said he was right....i just said two wrongs never make a right....and violence is not always the answer to the problem. someone breaking into your house is alot different than someone harrassing you online. its one thing to defend your home and family as in the case of someone breaking in...and another thing to "plot" the demise or intentioal affliction of pain on someone.

lockit have you ever thought of becomming friends with a couple of cops? you'll find that can be very benificial....people i know who are buddy buddy with the cops get away with things alot more....and they cops do more for them and pay more attention to them

I've seen the application of extreme violence render the toughest worst bastards a former shell of themselves after years of restraining orders, court and police complaints did absolutely nothing. The trick is that it has to be severe and brutal enough to be life-changing and there has to be permanent impairment to remind them everyday. It not only attacks them physically but more importantly emotionally, spiritually and psychologically. You "break" them. And that's the effect that you're looking for, that they'll never do anything that would put themselves in that position again. I've only done it to one person but it worked 100% after years of that person terrorising women and getting away with it thanks to the cops and courts. I'm not a violent person at all but when faced with a criminally insane person who specialises in terrorising women and their new boyfriends (me) I didn't hesitate to go after him.
