The only way to be completely sure to not contract any diseases is to abstain.

Every form of sexual contact carries some risk with it.

There is a risk.
Either don't do it, or use barrier methods - even then there is still a risk.

Smart hookers use condoms for BJs. A mouth is no less risky a place to have a penis than any other orifice.

Blowjob safety tip: Always make sure to look left, then right, then left again whenever you cross the street while giving a blowjob.

Yes, there is a risk to every thing that you might engage in.....And no, the mouth is not like any other orifice....It is the beginning of the digestive tract....In many cases people who have acquired Aids through oral were found to have some sort of health problem regarding their mouths...from cuts to sores to bleeding gums.

Is it 100% safe? Of course not....This is just one of the reasons I refuse to blow guys that are hiv positive.

While it is agreed that oral sex is a very much lower risk activity—in terms of HIV-infection risk—than vaginal and anal sex, HIV can be transmitted through both insertive and receptive oral sex,[16] when there is contact between semen and the mucous membranes of the mouth. The risk of infection from a single encounter is small, but it increases with frequency of activity according to binomial probability theory. Transmission risk may be elevated in the case of open sores on the genitals and/or mouth, or significant gum disease or bleeding, i.e., when there is direct contact between semen or saliva and breaks in the skin or surface of the mouth.

The problem is the only infection study that has been done between oral sex and HIV is from research done in the early 90's where HIV posative gay men stayed that they only participated in oral sex. HIV needs contact with red blood cells within a few seconds. Salivia  kills the HIV cells  slowly (slowly as in a mater of seconds).

Honestly you have more to worry about from chlamydia genital warts/herpes then from HIV.

if you are concerned about getting an std (including aids) i would suggest that you at minimum use a condom, and perferably not have sex with someone you don't know their sexual history including a recent std test and no unprotected sex since then...an additional note on aids...i would avoid IV drug users too...
chelle

ps...i used concern as a fairly relative term...the hooker who is trying to feed her family is more concerned about stds than the hooker trying to get drug money...

I'd be impressed with a guy who can maintain a boner wearing three condoms and a roll of cling film.

Using a condom is safest, but if you want to take the risk of not using one, then don't clean the teeth for a couple of hours before and after, because toothbrushes can cause small abrasions through which germs can pass.
