Domspaintoy -> another piercing thread (7/16/2007 3:01:22 PM)

sorry folks lol but i have a question,

Master pierced my nips this weekend, hurt like a bitch don’t think ill be having anything else pierced if I got any say in it anyway but that aside, He put barbells in they ok but ones a bit tight, I seem to be loosing the ball every so often it keep creeping inside, doesn’t hurt as such but it’s a bit worrying as I don’t want to lose it altogether.

My question to anyone who knows is, do I need a longer bar? this is a 12mm quite short IMO or is it just swelling and I should leave it alone?

Thanks in advance.

dpt.

I've always been told that it's better to get a ring initially until the piercing is healed just for cleaning purposes.  You can rotate the ring to make sure that all sides are cleaned.  You can't do that with barbells.  You may want to look into going back to where you got pierced and see if they'll put in rings for you.

Hi, as i said initially, Master did the actual piercings [;)] so its a case of having to go buy something else, W/we appreciate some swelling is expected but is it advisable to have a longer bar in until they settle?

Apologies if i wasnt clear initially. [:D]

Ah...I missed that beginning part.  Ask him to put a ring in then.  You may be more comfortable.

Actually, are not always recommended for nipple piercings in women. If you have larger breasts, they will put pressure on the ring against your bra, increasing the tendency to migrate.

If they're so tight that the balls are pulling more than half-way into the hole, then you need to change them out ASAP. Get some Surgilube from the drugstore (you may have to ask for it). After a hot shower, remove one ball from the old jewelry, apply lube to the open end of the existing jewelry, and the leading end of the new jewelry, and use the new bar to "push" the old one out.  It will hurt, and may bleed a little- be very gentle

There is no universal "too short"... it all depends on the size of your nipples before and after the piercing. But if the piercing is trying to "swallow" the jewelry, it's too short. Do you have any idea of just how much larger they've gotten? Are they unusually red, warm to the touch?

For what it's worth, a lot of people consider the nipples to be one of the most painful piercings to do.

Good luck,

...dave

Actually, it's opposite.

You don't want the stress of the ring pulling on the nipples, especially in the case of heavy breasts in a bra.  The ring acts as a lever and disrupts the healing tissue.

And, you really don't want to pull dried lymph (crusties) through a fresh or healing piercing.  Folks with rings are rather tempted to do that.

12mm is not the length of the barbell, but the DIAMETER of the metal going through the nipple (aka thickness.)

You likely need a longer bar, and someone with strong hands to tighten the balls.  They should be internally threaded, and there is no reason for you to be unscrewing them in the first few months you have those piercings.

Please go back and see your piercist to be resized!!!!!
