The meter or syllabic content of each of these is off, though some of it is free verse. Any critique or suggestion is appreciated. It will be used. If you're going to be a fool, might as well be an articulate one. "Your Voice." The timbre of Your voice, Like intimate caress, Stroking down neck, Over shoulder, breast, Comes to rest Deep within soul. The touch of Your voice Makes whole. "Playful." Shake Shimmy Stand on toes Stretch Shiver May i have more of those? "Commanded." Keep the house. Stay clear of the kitchen. Tend the yard. Just try bitchin' ... Run to work. Run to play. Wouldn't be me Any other way. "Daring." i dare not meet Your eyes Lest my eager gaze offends But, God, that i might rest there i would dare any amends. But, God, that i might rest there i would brave the breaking pain Gamely stand eternity Your statue wrapped in chain Marked by the kiss of fire Numbed by the heartless night But, God, that i might rest there Within Your easy sight. "Shrubbery." There is a small bit of shrubbery here That, unchecked, looks to become a hedgerow. Can it be redirected Into a bonsai? "Appeal." Come. Sit here In this easy chair. Let me soothe The worry from Your eyes, The frown from Your sweet lips, The day from Your shoulders. Come. Rest beneath these skilled hands, Please, Mistress.
